Carlos Condit Hints At Awaited UFC Return

Carlos Condit is ready to return to mixed martial arts (MMA) action.

The former interim UFC and WEC welterweight champ, Condit has been competing in the sport since 2002 and has picked up notable wins over the likes of Jake Ellenberger, Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy, Nick Diaz, and Thiago Alves. He has also shared the Octagon with Demian Maia, Georges St-Pierre, Tyron Woodley, and Johny Hendricks. His last appearance inside the cage saw him suffer a first-round submission loss to Maia, after which he began contemplating retirement.

That fight was over a year ago in August of 2016, however, “The Natural Born Killer” took to Twitter earlier today (Tues. September 19, 2017) to send a tweet to Sean Shelby, claiming he is looking to return to fighting come December or January:

There are plenty of contenders in the UFC’s 170-pound division for Condit to square up with, such as Rafael dos Anjos, Neil Magny, or even Santiago Ponzinibbio who comes off a huge first round knockout win over Gunnar Nelson.

Do you think we’ll see Condit back in the age by the end of the year? Who would you like to see him fight? Let us know in the comments!

  • Woodley wants a superfight but Lawler, RDA, and now NBK are all in the picture. T-Wood is gonna HAVE to defend that title against a dangerous contender. Calling out GSP and Nick Diaz and the like is gonna have to wait.

I can see Condit vs Wonderboy being a masterpiece.

on paper it would be. it would just depend which Carlos Condit shows up. he’s shown lack of motivation in his last few outings

      • Draven

He had one helluva fight against robbie lawler. His fights are always entertaining. I can’t think of a fight where he didn’t bring it other than the time he fought nick diaz.

        • Victor Ferreira

I don’t now if was “lack of motivation” but Maia make Condit looks like a amateur!!

          • Draven

That’s because Maia is a high level opponent and continued to exploit an area of the fight game that Condit has never been good. Maia best game plan would most likely fight on the bottom than try to strike with Condit.

Condit vs Cerone would be an awesome fight I believe, they’re both game fighters who bring it in every outing, and they’re both extremely well rounded, I think it would be a great fight both fighters are in my top ten list

Won’t happen. Both train at JacksonWink Gym and share the same coaches and training partners.

If Condit is fighting because his fire is back, good idea. Not so good if it’s because he just needs money.

condit vs lawler would be interesting…please no wrestler.
