Betting Odds Turn On Jose Aldo Following News Of An Injury

While the UFC has issued statements on Jose Aldo being able to compete at UFC 189 and confidently saying that he’ll be himself come July 11th.

The odds makers are not so sure that the featherweight champion will be 100% come fight night following last week’s news.

Before word got out on Aldo’s rib injury, he was the odds-on favorite to win the fight against Conor McGregor. Since news got out about the injury, McGregor clocks in at +125 on some of the more popular sportsbooks (see them here).

Also, you can’t forget that Chad Mendes would be at the event as a “stand by” fighter in case Aldo can’t go.

UFC 189 takes place on July 11, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event will be shown on pay-per-view, Fox Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
