Tonight’s (Fri., March 27, 2015) Bellator 135 from WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma is in the books and we have a new bantamweight champion on our hands.

Brazilian Marcos Galvao ripped the belt from former champ Joe Warren with a second round verbal submission due to a kneebar that forced the bout to end in controversial fashion. Warren screamed from the pain of the hold, which caused referee John McCarthy to step in and call the fight off for fear of his safety. Watch the finish courtesy of Zombie Prophet below:

Warren was quick to protest, but the belt was awarded to Galvao nonetheless.

In the co-main event, L.C Davis outlasted Hideo Tokoro via split decision in a bantamweight title eliminator that was undoubtedly the fight of the night. Both combatants landed a ton of shots in the frenzied back-and-forth battle, which ultimately resulted in Davis’ third straight victory inside the Bellator cage.

At light heavyweight, UFC veteran Francis Carmont beat Guilherme Viana via unanimous decision after rocking him with a huge second round overhand right before going for an ill-advised double leg that allowed Viana to storm back in the third, only to fall short in the end.

Ryan Couture picked up his fourth straight submission win by kicking off the main card with a first round rear naked choke of Dakota Cochrane.
