I'd say Fedor, Silva, and GSP got the top 3.

He's def. 4-6 and at 23 years old. Can you imagine him at 30?

He's definitely top 4 among the company you mentioned but it's tough not to be biased because the featherweight division usually doesnt receive the same hype that the heavier weight classes do.

i would put Aldo at 6, number 5 position going to the winner of the machida/shogun fight, 4 being penn, 3 being gsp, 2 being silva and fedor is 1

Honestly he made Faber look horrible, and Faber is world class. He can teach lessons to Silva in how to be dominant and not look like an a**. Well done.

I would put him in the top five.

after penn's loss though and how well aldo handled faber i would say that aldo is 4 with machida being 5. if machida actually wins this one, i doubt it although the judges may give it to him again, then i would say machida gets 4 and aldo knocked back to 5.

Yo Ninja, is it just me or do you see Shogun's exact style in Aldo.

When Faber would attack forward, Aldo just steps back to the side rhen you see his hands come out to the side. His leg kicks are similar also and his ground game is remarkable.

When you are talking about guys like Fedor, A.S., GSP, Machida, etc, etc, I don't think you can really say one is better than the other. I think that when you get to the top of the pile the question of who is number one becomes meaningless. I think Aldo is right in there with the above mentioned and a couple of other guys.

Penn had a real bad fight and Edgar had a really good fight. I would still put Penn in the top 6. The guy is a monster at 155. Not throwing the towel in on him just yet.

I can agree with your ratings or sure. Fedor was at one time the top p4p but he doesn't fight often enough to rate his skills at this time. Aldo is so well rounded that I think he will climb right to the top of the p4p list within the next year or so because there isn't anybody at 135 or even 155 who can match up with him. I wanted to see BJ and Aldo when BJ was at his invincible stint. However the only person I see giving Aldo a honest challenge is BJ. Great fights yet to come thats for sure.

your talking about fedor right (that needs more fights) you fedor nuthuggers are too much, i'd definitely place aldo above fedor since aldo actually fights the toughest guys in his division, maybe fedor is the one who should be 4-6

I don't agree. . this discussion is going to be split into "all-time" and "current" p4p within 5 years, cause people are losing sight. .. . is jordan better than lebron/kobe? you're thinking narrow.. its numbers buddy, if you don't respect what fedor's done then you don't know mma. . . There is a prime for fighters (also consider the fighters he beat in their prime) and the only thing that's up in the air is whether fedor is still in his.. It's not a question of his greatness. He's still fighting, he's still the best, 'til he's beaten or retires.

aldo at 23 made a vet in faber look average.i base my p4p on fighters that make guys have to seriously raise their game.guys on a higher level to the those in their weight class. aldo is special that's why i have him at no.3 right now. and if macheda DESTROYS shogun then i might have to move him up the list and if penn doesn't prove edgar was just a blip i might have move him down the list.

It's fine to say he's impressive for doing well at 23, but age has no effect on rankings. He's obviously an amazing fighter, and I love watching him fight. He's one of these guys thats so good he could get to the number one spot, but there's a fair few people in contention. They've also been in the running for longer and beaten higher level competition over their careers imo.

    It's just our opinions tho.

i agree silva has had some indifferent fights but the difference is most guys have exciting fights when they ko guys. but when silva turns it on there is nothing else like it there no debating that.i love gsp and penn but chances are you will see guys with similar skill sets and style 10 years from now.what the the real chance of fans seeing a someone like a silva again might happen but probably not. i'll tell you again mokoko watch silva vs griffin no 1 in the ufc and i mean no 1 can dodge punches like that and then strike with such ease. bt hey what do i know

Rogan though Aldo was tired and didn't want to injure himself and so backed off. He asked Aldo and Aldo said Faber changed his stance in round 4 & 5 and so he couldn't attack as well. I think both of those are BS. I believe Aldo backed off of Faber out of respect for his legacy. At the end of round three Faber should have quit (many others would have - look at Penn at the end of round 4 against GSP).

Aldo could have finished but backed off. He didn't say so to allow Faber to save face.

I am not intending to disrespect anyone of u, but I think this whole list thing is futile. It is impossible to gauge 10 fighters with a list. Thats the beauty of MMA. The list literally changes in a heartbeat. A fickle little SOB that list is and with each passing event, each fight, each strike even, a fighter is made or broken. There is no harm in listing in our minds, but accuracy is a fleeting ambition.

No there is nothing wrong with ur opinion. Like I said, I cant sit here and pick apart ur list. I just cant even if it was my intention. There is to many arguments in to many directions to accurately do so. Honestly, I have heard the phrase, abbreviation, whatever u wanna call it "P4P" thrown around way to excessively lately. Its kinda lost its value at this point. That is like if they handed out 5 Championships within each weight class..... Pretty confusing situation right? Then who the hell would care anyway? Thats pretty much what is happening with the P4P title.....

Was really impressed by how slick Aldo is with his head movement and footwork, great mobile boxing stance. Dominated Faber everywhere, and he hasn't even reached his prime either.

My p4p list goes like this:

    1. Fedor (for his legacy of dominance)/ Silva (he does things no one else can)

    2. GSP(not one of my favs, but wins are wins)

    3. Penn (if he has another lackluster performance vs Edgar I move em down)

    4. Machida ( He has to defend the belt a few more times to move up)

    5. Aldo (have only seen em fight twice, but very impressed, he may top my list someday)

I don't dislike Fedor but he needs to fight more often. He is great but I suspect business / politics is causing him to slip in people's eyes due to inaction. I'd like to see him fight twice a year at least. This makes Aldo #4 behind:

    1) (grudgingly) Silva

    2) GSP

    3) Fedor

    4) Aldo

    No offense to Fedor fans.

Its too bad because Yeah i watch basically every WEC its still really hard to grasp how good his opponents are.Hes destroyed everyone for sure but like they dont seem as high level as other divisions. Urjah Faber in my eyes isnt that great, since that "Hey look reverse elbow, got me KO'D" but Aldo's striking is crisp as hell tho they boast his ground game too so I guess hes up there.

I should just refer to u as Frank Mir Jr. from here on out. Ur obsession with Silva is just creepy! Easily as creepy as Mir's with Lesnar. You just randomly pop up with comments pertaining to Silva out of no where and in the most random contexts. In this case, at least people have said his name here and there on the thread, but it could be a thread about anything and u would take it as an opportunity to talk about The Spider!! I can only assume that Silva would appreciate your promotion. It seems to me that in all actuality, u just might be his biggest fan!! As far as calling u Mir Jr tho, I would never really be that cruel. Just cause u dont like someone doesnt mean u should resort to something that degrading. After all, Mir has never done anything to me personally for me to insult him like that!

These fantasy comparisons are ****ing stupid! Unless youre comparing fighters from one weight class it just doesnt make sense. To say that fedor is a better fighter than BJ is just bullshit. Penn is far more technical in every aspect of the game. Can he beat Fedors ass? Hell no! Because of the size and weight difference. Its like the fact that a smaller guy CAN beat a bigger guys ass if he is far more skilled. But take two fighters with equal skill and one weighs 100 pounds more the bigger guy wins everytime.
