there is almost as many sharps are there are weaks. I guess some people would change that list around a little, maybe put fedor in there. Its def not weak though.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say jon jones is top three p4p. And i know NOONE is gonna agree with me, but i think he'll prove it in a years time.

I agree with you lol. Jones is a one man wrecking machine.

Actually, I take that back. As soon as Jones gets a jiujitsu game, then he'll probably be there. He hasn't really been tested by good submission attempts yet. Closest thing to it was Vera trying to be subtle about an armlock and, well, look at Vera's face after that.

The first Aldo fight I saw brought the realization, he is going far.

Here we are in P4P threads involving him now. Do you think maybe he's the first guy to enter that division who can actually strike and not primarily wrestle? or just GnP

Seriously, who could possibly be ahead of this dude? He's 18 and 1, has destroyed everybody the WEC has thrown at him and looks unstoppable. Aldo is in the same league as GSP and Silva, top three at least, if not the very best.

Silva is the most physically eloquent and skillful P4P fighter.

Aldo is the most well rounded, vicious, finishing P4P fighter. In addition to that he has a refreshing personality.

Personally, I have him as #3, although I would not argue with anyone who had him higher or even a bit lower. At just 24 years old the kid has the potential to lead the list. For myself however, #3 is already a bold move. While he has the skill, he still has more to prove before he can surpass some of the more seasoned champions on that list. It was a great win no doubt, but defeating Manny isn't enough, in my opinion, to promote him any further.

I agree with you Joey and would revise my hatily spoken opinion. You are right, he is #3 at best however, beating Manny in impressive fashion wasn't all that impressive since Manny isn't high on my list. Mike Brown, U.F. and some of Aldo's other wins have been very impressive however. I mean WoW. UF couldn't do anything in that fight and was owned.

He is up there. I do think UF was doing well in the first even winning some exchanges evn up to the 2nd round but he did not take enough priority of avoiding the low kicks and then he had no bounce to give back for the rest of that fight. He is also a bit small for Aldo. Aldo is something else and his biggest victory was UF in my opinion as it was the toughest match stylistically.

i know this guy is a beast and is very talented but for me it has to be in the 4-6 range simply because other than mike brown and faber, there is no name recognition in that division. All his future fights will be against tough good opponents but none of the future match ups in that division in the wec really make me excited. Great skill but how can you be the top p4p guy when all your fights will be against guys people have barley heard of, and when other guys like gsp, silva, mauricio rua ect take out other top tier guys that have huge names. Aldo vs bibiano fernandez would be sick but in the wec....kinda is like feeding him guys

    i say hes in Top 3 !

he's just behind Gsp and of course ahead of Silva!

Silva has not been dominant for a while now!

While Aldo has been destroying everyone!

his skills are way better than Silva!

better takedown defense , better strikes and kicks!

The only thing I can really argue with is placing GSP so high. He is well rounded and seems unstoppable but he also seems incapable of stopping anyone lately. I think p4p fighters should be finishers.

I think if Aldo and Sandro fought...Sandro would KTFO Aldo...but they will never fight...unless they get in the same situation as Wandy and Andy!

The only reason ppl say Fedor isnt # 1 is because they claim his last few fights have been nobodies. Were talking about a guy that has fought the best of the best for years yet aldo is ranked #1 by alot of people and he's fought half of what fedor has fought and of those people, there are ppl that no one has even heard of.

Bunch of hypocrite shit. I can understand if you put fedor 2nd or 3rd but not even including him is a joke. And yeah if fedor loses his next fight i will reconsider his rank but so far, so good. Guarantee you when aldo starts losing a fight or two, he will be ranked so far down ppl will be saying the same exact thing im saying about fedor.

Only reason Fedor isn't number one is because he hasn't even been challenged by a decent fighter since..what crocop? And how many years back was that? And how well has crocop done in UFC? And who did Fedor lose to?

Personally i have him as number 3. Silva is first because unlike everyone else on the list, silva has actually gone up and down multiple weights and still dominated, it's not speculation. GSP is number 2...honestly i havent been impressed for awhile, and the more i think about it the more i want to give that spot to someone who's outclassing their opponents and not just taking advantage of their not being able to stop takedowns and point gathering.

I really ought to take frankie edgar off the list too, but him and GSP and other points fighters would be right at the top of the "most effective styles" lists.

Depends on who you ask... Some recognize quite a few names on Jose Aldo's resume. The reason that others do not is because of his division. Unfortunately, it has not traditionally received as much attention as its heavier counterparts : )

I think Edgar is quite ahead of Aldo in terms of quality victories. Aldo has never ever faced anyone close to calibre of BJ Penn. Edgar has and he outclassed him. Now while Aldo may have the ability, he needs to prove it against that kind of opponent. He should move to LW in UFC and prove just how good he is. There are a few fights in WEC but anyone in the UFC top 10 LW division will be a tougher challenge than anything he has ever faced. If he remains in WEC he will struggle to have a resume comparable to the likes of GSP or Edgar.
