World Series of Fighting schedules Las Vegas card for Jon Fitch’s debut

The World Series of Fighting will make its way to Las Vegas and the Hard Rock Casino Hotel this June for their third-ever night of fights. Seeking to build off of their second event, which saw numerous holdups but ultimately delivered some entertaining bouts for the fans, the promotion has announced the lineup for the June 14th show.

Former longtime UFC Welterweight contender Jon Fitch will make his promotional debut against Josh Burkman, who claimed Fitch should have to fight his way to the top before he gets a WSOF title shot. Also on the card is K-1 veteran Tyrone Spong, who looks to showcase his young talents in MMA. WSOF President Ray Sefo spoke up on the upcoming event:

“We are coming off a spectacular event showcasing some of the world’s greatest mixed martial arts athletes and up-and-coming talent of the sport and are looking forward to returning to Las Vegas with another outstanding night of world-class competition in the World Series of Fighting cage on NBC Sports Network.”

WSOF has a good television deal in place with NBC Sports, but they need to deliver in a big way this summer in order to make any headway on Bellator and the UFC. Here’s a complete rundown of the card thus far:
