With Fabio Maldonado and Big Nog stepping-in Dana White declares "We are back on track"

"We're back on track. Anderson Silva wasn't scheduled to fight at all. I called him today, and he's shooting a commercial in Brazil. Anderson Silva steps up, and Stephan Bonnar wants to fight him. The Teixeira vs. Maldonado fight comes together, and then Nogueira was standing right there with Anderson shooting the commercial with him, and he said he wanted to fight, too.

This is old-school UFC," White said. "A card is in jeopardy, but guys that are world champions and superstars stepped up and jumped in and saved the card. This is why the fans love this sport and why we went on a 12-year run without canceling an event."  - USAToday.com

Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White seemed satisfied with his promotion's ability to rebuild the injury-struck UFC 153 fight card. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will return for the first time since the famous encounter with Frank Mir, testing his veteran skills against Dave Herman in main card action. Glover Teixeira will face Fabio Maldonado, adding the final piece of the puzzle to what has formed up as a solid pay-per-view line-up.

UFC 153: Silva vs. Bonnar now features a six-fight main card that airs on pay-per-view. Four undercard bouts will be aired LIVE on FX, and three via a free stream on Facebook.

UFC 153 is scheduled to take place on October 13th, at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

    - When I heard Koch was out and Aldo Edgar was made I was super hyped!

    - When I heard Aldo was out I was super bummed!

Not as good as Aldo Edgar, but not a bad event at all, Maldonado VS Teixeira should be like fireworks.

Back on track my A$$. These fights pale in comparison to those that are cancelled due to injury. The UFC has a much bigger problem here, the injury epidemic. Time to do some serious investigating and punish any who fall short of a real "injury".

Better for those real fighters who are HUNGRY, which you hardly ever see anymore.
