Weidman: I would like to fight Anderson Silva next

Weidman admitted that he wants to fight Anderson Silva next, in hope to find success where Chael Sonnen failed:
"Chael makes it look easy to take this guy down, and it's absolutely not easy. I mean, he fought 15 guys and everyone wants to take him down but no one does it besides Chael. Everyone seeing Chael getting in those positions, saying 'I would do this, I would do that', but to get this guy down and to do what Chael did is just unbelievable.
Anderson Silva is no joke, and of course I would love to be able to get him down in the same positions, and I will be working on different things to get a finish there too."
Chael Sonnen joined-in to praise Chris Weidman, saying that he was "blown away" by the fact that Mark Munoz was kept down for so long during the fight. Sonnen labeled Weidman as the #1 contender, and a serious threat to Anderson Silva's reign as the UFC Middleweight champion.
Chris Weidman is 9-0 in his MMA career, with notable victories over Demian Maia, Alessio Sakara, and now Mark Munoz. Weidman make his debut at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann, one month after Anderson Silva defeated Vitor Belfort, in what was his eighth title defense.

this guy is the last hope to dethrone silva. they should make this fight sooner rather than later since silva is fighting once a year but if they give it to lombard weidman vs bisping for #1 contender would be fun
He easily deserves a shot at the title with last night's performance but every time he fights he improves so much, based on that I would like to see him in a #1 contenders bout.

All the talk Mark was doing, I never once believed he had a chance against Anderson. Chris beats Mark & I feel the same way. Sure Chris looked impressive but Silva's at a whole different level.
Rather ambitious if he thinks he can fight AS.
Since when is Belcher a #1 contender?
If anyone can beat Silva, it's Weidman. He can take what Sonnen started to the next level with the champ and finish it.
