Although highly improbable and likely a nightmare to make a reality, everyone is still talking about Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. Since late 2015, the two have been inexplicably linked to a fantasy boxing match. It’s true that the Irishman’s striking skills are worthy of high praise, but many boxing analysts point out the obvious difference-McGregor competes in MMA, and pro boxers have far more refined striking. Still, even some well-known boxing tipsters are predicting ‘The Notorious’ could win against Mayweather.

Once again releasing odds for a fight that doesn’t even exist, the Vegas betting offices have Mayweather as a massive favorite. Since winning the lightweight title at UFC 205, McGregor first demanded a slice of the UFC before announcing he’d be taking nearly a year off. At this stage, it’s hard to deny that anything can happen, and even UFC president Dana White admitted he had ‘no idea’ where this rivalry would lead.

Mayweather Steps Up The Trash Talk

After a number of interviews bashing Conor McGregor, ‘Money’ offered $10K cash on Instagram for the best insult of his Irish rival. Becoming a daily habit for the modern boxing great, Mayweather has released another instalment of his latest saga and campaign against McGregor. Taking part in a Skype call with two-time welterweight opponent Nate Diaz, Mayweather asked for tips about beating ‘The Notorious.’ Diaz responds by saying Conor is now ‘hiding’ from a trilogy fight, as the two share a jovial video call.

“Nate tell me what I gotta do. I seen what you did to him. I’m gonna put the finishing touches on him.”

As we’ve said before, this may just be for media attention, but its damn entertaining nonetheless. On a more serious note, we have some cool fights to watch this weekend in Sacramento. Stay tuned to LowKick for all our comprehensive coverage and news!
