Urijah Faber: I fought better fighters than Renan Barao

The fight will headline UFC 149 card in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with Hector Lombard vs. Tim Boetsch as the co-main event. Faber is currently 26-5 in his MMA career, with victory over Brian Bowles in his most recent appearance inside the Octagon.

urijah has been a top 3 fighter for the majority of his career so the fact that barao is a big favorite to win this is weird. barao is a beast but faber and cruz seem to be on another level
Not saying yoru wrong but where have you seen he is the favourite? The betting sites I am familiar with have Urijah as the fav.

People are weaking this post, so are you saying that Barao is as good as Jose Aldo or Dominick Cruz?

yes he has fought better fighters than Barao
but how many did he beat?
lets see got a beatdown by Aldo for 5 rounds
got KO by Mike Brown then beat up again in the rematch
and Cruz prove to be better than him easily.
So whats the point of what Faber said? only he knows
my guess is Faber's only chance is a choke against
either Barao and Cruz, but im going with Barao by Dec
To be fair, he submitted Cruz in the first round the first time they fought, and he lost a close decision the second time they fought. Cruz outpointed Faber, but Faber came closer to finishing by knocking him down more than once.
Against Mike Brown, he was winning the rematch before breaking his hand early in the second round. He lost that fight, but he stayed in there for nearly 4 rounds as essentially a one handed fighter in one of the most impressive displays of heart I've seen in MMA.
Faber could outwrestle Barao for a decision, and if Barao gets gives him any opening, he can also KO him.
Whatever happens, i got new respect for faber making this dangerous fight, he could have picked an easier fight but he didn't.
Don't like faber at all, but you got to respect him for picking a real hard fight !
