UFC Signs Undefeated Chute Box Knockout Machine Thomas Almeida

The UFC bantamweight division underwent huge change earlier this year, when TJ Dillashaw sensationally ended the incredible unbeaten streak of Renan Barao. In the midst of ‘The Viper’s’ fourth round KO at UFC 173, came a wind of change for the previously stale division. ‘Baron’ held the weight class hostage with his dominant reign, but now there is renewed lease of life at 135 pounds.

It looks like the promotion is eager to bolster the rankings at bantamweight, as we learn today that the UFC has signed undefeated prospect and Legacy FC champion Thomas Almeida. If you haven’t heard of this kid, he is 17-0 and has finished all of his opponents. Not only this, but he has 15 finishes in the first round, and 13 by knockout.

The Chute Box prospect was most recently in the headlines winning the Legacy FC bantamweight title against fellow undefeated scrapper Caio Machado; ‘Thominas’ put the screws to his foe by TKO with a body punch last Saturday, and it seems the UFC was very keen to sign the 22 year old after the showing at Legacy FC 32.
