UFC Fight Night 44 Adds Myles Jury vs. Abel Trujillo

After demolishing longtime Octagon veteran Diego “The Dream” Sanchez with a one-sided decision at March 15’s UFC 171, undefeated rising lightweight prospect Myles Jury has found his next challenge.

And it could be an exciting one.

The UFC confirmed earlier today that Jury has been booked to face dangerous knockout striker Abel “Killa” Trujillo on the main card of UFC Fight Night 44, which will air live on FOX Sports 1 on June 28, 2014, from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Trujillo recently knocked out Jamie Varner in a come-from-behind “Knockout of the Night” and “fight of the Night”-winning war at UFC 169 in February, his second straight UFC win.

Jury has made a UFC career out of defeating The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) alumni, as his previous three victories before Sanchez were over Mike Ricci, Ramsey Nijem, and Michael Johnson. The talented 25-year-old has his own system of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is headed for big things if he can get past the knockout power of Trujillo.

But that’s no easy task.

The booking means UFC Fight Night 44, which features a featherweight main event between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens, just got a significant upgrade.

Who’s your early pick to take down this exciting lightweight scrap from Texas?
