UFC 175 Extended Preview
With the UFC’s summer schedule about to hit full stride, one of the most anticipated bouts of the year will go down when middleweight champion Chris Weidman meets former light heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida in the main event of UFC 175, which takes place on July 5 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The blockbuster pay-per-view (PPV) event also features Ronda Rousey’s next title defense, as the dominant “Rowdy” will take on Alexis Davis, the only other woman to win three straight UFC bouts, in the evening’s co-main event.
Popular former WEC champion Urijah Faber will make his awaited return to face TUF veteran Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres. Despite losing the overhyped (and ultimately doomed) Wanderlei Silva vs. Chael Sonnen match-up, UFC 175 is poised to become one of the best events of the year, and the promotion certainly needs it after a lackluster run featuring a ton of content that hasn’t really delivered.
