UFC 174 Medical Suspensions: Ryan Jimmo And Two Others Face Six Months Out

Ryan Jimmo, Valerie Letourneau and Tae Hyun Bang all face six months on the sidelines following UFC 174 which went down inside the Rogers Arena this weekend.

According to the British Columbia Athletic Commission, who released the suspensions to MMAJunkie earlier today, all 22 fighters who competed on Saturday were handed at least a mandatory suspension of 14 days.

Jimmo faces half a year out after having his arm snapped in his fight against Ovince St. Preux on the nights main card. The Canadian will need to be cleared by an orthopedic surgeon before he can resume training.

He’s joined by Letourneau who picked up her 180 day suspension despite emerging victorious in her war with Elizabeth Phillips. She will need to have a possible fractured eye orbital checked before she can get back in action.

Bang was the last of the three who faces six months out after his fight with Kajan Johnson, he will need an X-ray on his nose before he can return.

Without including the mandatory suspension of 14 days given to every fighter, the following fighters received additional suspensions following UFC 174:

Ali Bagautinov: Suspended 30 days – no contact for 30 days.

Rory MacDonald: 14-day mandatory suspension, must also see general practitioner before returning.

Andrei Arlovski: Suspended 30 days- no contact for 14 days.

Brendan Schaub: Suspended 90 days – no contact for 60 days due to left eyelid laceration and suture on right side of face. Schaub must also have a CT scan on his head and get a doctor’s clearance before returning to training.

Ryan Jimmo: Suspended 180 days – no contact for 180 days due to fractured right forearm. Jimmo must be cleared by an orthopedic surgeon before returning to training.

Daniel Sarafian: 14-day mandatory suspension – Also needs to see physician before returning to training.

Valerie Letourneau: Suspended 180 days – no contact for 30 days. Must also have left orbital cleared by doctor before returning to training.

Mike Easton: 14-day mandatory suspension – Also needs left thumb assessed by doctor before returning to training.

Tae Hyun Bang: Suspended indefinitely – no contact for 180 days. Needs to have nose cleared by doctor before returning to training.

Kajan Johnson: Suspended 60 days – no contact for 45 days due to knockout. Johnson must also see general practitioner before returning to training.

Roland Delorme: Suspended 30 days – no contact for 21 days.
