The buildup to this Saturday’s UFC 166 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, is reaching its peak, and with it comes the traditional pre-fight staredowns.

UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was on hand to face off with challenger and former champion Junior Dos Santos, and MMA H.E.A.T. was right there to catch all of the action.

Co-main event participants Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson also appeared, as did lightweight scrappers Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez. Main card participants Gabriel Gonzaga, Shawn Jordan, John Dodson, and Darrell Montague rounded out today’s promotional event.

It promises to be a heavy-hitting event from Houston this weekend. Which fights are you looking forward to the most, and why?

This has been a great year....We've seen a lot of Shakeups with Anthony Pettis, Chris Weidman and still have GSP defending soon as well...

It's the deepest card I can think of. It's going to be an amazing night of MMA.

Agreed. It's been a great year for MMA, the best ever in my opinion. And Jones almost lost his belt (some say he should have) !!! If JDS gets the belt back, and GSP loses, that will undoubtedly be the craziest year ever, with Silva vs. Weidman II still set to go off. Insane. The UFC delivers.

@Mike...It seemed like we went through the most predictable era when Anderson was champion. Weidman smashed the predictability era away

That's a good point man. He kind of kicked off the unpredictability era; Pettis continued it and Gustafsson nearly did. If Hendricks wins, it will be officially here.

Who can't like John Dodson? You have to love it when you see a guy smiling that much, before a fight.

Gabe Gonzaga looked huge next to Jordan.

Diego Sanchez, surely there is no more serious nor intense man in MMA.

Cormier looked great in his suit and there seemed to be no animosity between the two.

Cain & Cigano, just wow. I hope this fight turns out to be what all of us want, which is just a great fight. Something as epic as Jones & Gustafsson would be incredible.
