UFC 166 delivered in so many ways; close fought thrillers, a slick submission, a barn burner of a title fight and plenty of hefty knockouts. As usual, a card with such excitement is not without cost to it’s athletes.

The fighters at UFC 166 certainly put it all on the line, with some fighters paying more than others. I was surprised to see that Cain Velasquez may have broken his jaw against JDS, and that TJ Waldburger came away unscathed after being carted to hospital on a stretcher. Check out the full list:

Although he beat down Junior it was obviously not as easy as everyone seems to Claim as if Cain had no problems in that fight. He got his fair share, just look at pics from after fight.

How does news come up with "may have broken jaw"? I know writers here re only reporting what they are seeing from media, but usually when I see this, it later states that it isnt broken just bruised or something along those lines. Exception being Struve, but they knew his was broken. I suspect a crack if anything, it didnt seem to bother Cain, and a broken jaw usually has big effects, like missing the post ight presser.

Stewie, as Cain has been suspended it's a moot point. Broken or not, he's gone until April.

If that means he can train, then the suspension is really meaningless and he can take a fight in April, when he comes off the suspension. No harm, no foul. So, maybe it doesn't really mean anything.

A crack is considered a break in medical terms.

Falcon, "crack" is considered a lot of things, in various professions.

And sometimes, the crack is just that, "craic" :-)

All happiness to Connor's toes. :-)

following that, endorphins could have acted as a natural pain reliever for Cain at the PFPC, who knows. Maybe it is a fracture up near the top of the jaw

Even if Cain is out for 10 months, we have GSP, WIEDMAN, PETTIS, MIGHTY MOUSE RHONDA, and BONES to keep the show on the road until he can defend again. It ***** but as long as we don't get a Dominic Cruz situation again all is good.
