UFC On Fox 6 adds Rampage vs. Teixeira

The UFC is kicking off 2013 with a bang and possibly one of their strongest free cards since they began their deal with Fox.
With UFC on Fox 6 already featuring a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson and a highly anticipated lightweight scrap between Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone, the card already appeared to be loaded. But now the addition of Glover Teixeira vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has really pushed the card to a huge way for the UFC to begin 2013.
The two were supposed to meet at UFC 153 but Jackson had to pull out of the fight due to an injury to his elbow. Teixeira would go on to defeat Fabio Maldonado via TKO. Jackson had been campaigning for a rematch with Forrest Griffin in the event that Teixeira couldn't fight due to injury. However, Phil Davis landed the fight with Griffin and Jackson was upset with being unable to land a fight that he wanted. Being one of the few fighters who called out the hyped Brazilian, we're sure Jackson is happy that he finally got the fight he wanted considering it is the final fight on Rampage's UFC contract.
Jackson is looking to shake a two fight losing streak while Teixeira hasn't lost in 17 fights and is looking to enter the conversation as the next opponent for Jon Jones' UFC light heavyweight title.

Teixeira takes this one in dominating fashion and Rampage retires on the spot........bet money on it.
@cagerage..
Couldn't agree more.
I remember about 20 + years ago I used to watch Saturday afternoon boxing matches... there'd always be a chump who was obviously going to lose the first time they got hit...
As a fighter Rampage isn't a chump, he just hasn't evolved with the sport, I would add that he's lost his hunger... his edge.
I would rather watch a less talented fighter go for it than Rampage and his lousy footwork stalk his opponents with the finesse of a pregnant cow with a sore hoof and arthritis in her left hip, with an ear infection and a fly buzzing round her nose, while she takes a dump, on a dump...
cant wait for rampage to go away. he ruins it for the rest of the hard working fighters
Lol you're delusional dude... Rampage is gonna KILL Glover.. just watch! I can't believe people are actually picking Glover... lmao
Oh and if you wanna bet i'll gladly take your money!!
@Theexperience
It's brilliant that you have such faith in Rampage... Perhaps you're right, and on that basis I would like you to explain specifically what allows you to be sooooo confident that you would willingly make such challenges with soooo little hope of return, (see a book called, Wisdom of the Crowds).
Knock yourself out/ I hope you can enlighten me.
No....Rampage will chin him in the first round.
I fully expect to see Teixeira destroy Rampage.
Look I am a big Rampage fan ever since he 'whooped Chuck's ass' but it is just like odeshitman said he hasn't evolved with the sport. He is very predictable and really just one dimensional. At this age rampage has also lost the explosiveness he once had and there is no intimidation factor for him at all anymore. Glover could easily just use his jab and leg kick him for 3 rounds and win a decision. I expect a ref stoppage due to strikes.
This is like that time when most people were saying Jones was scared of Sonnen. So is Rampage still scared of Glover??
It will most likely be an easy but dull fight if Glover takes him down, I hope he stands with him and gives everyone a fight to remember.
Honestly I dont really care if he has "evolved" with the sport. I think this fight has motivated Rampage and he will put on a great show. That is unless Glover doesnt want to stand with him and takes him down which I would bet money will end up happening. Despite his last few fights I will always be a fan of Rampage and appreciate all the entertaining fights he has been a part of. Remember when he power bombed Ricardo Arona so hard that his head bounced off the mat and came back up and hit Rampage in the eye and busted it open! Who does cool sh*t like that anymore these days. No one. So I don't care if has a complex elaborate fighting style. I just wanna see him put into exciting fights with other stand up artists and see who comes out on top not boring wrestlers that only have a chance of winning if they can hump him for at least 2 rounds like Bader. So say what u want bout Rampage but I've been a fan long enough that I don't just turn my back on one of my all-time favorites cause they haven't evolved and still want to just throw hooks all day. To me there is just something inside me that loves it when 2 fighters stand toe to toe throw caution to the wind and just go at it like in the old pride days. Nowadays every one in the UFC is so afraid to lose and come in with these technical "game plans" that it is making alot of boring fights. Prime example is the Diaz/Condit fight. How u gonna have a nickname like the natural born killer and an over 95% finish rate when u win but now u r in the fight for a chance at the title and all over a sudden u become a point fighter and dance around the cage for 5 rounds. Would Rampage ever do that? Don't think he would and that's y I respect him.
@Dondada...
Cool, sounds like you're a really committed fan, and you just like to see hard core fighting..
You end by asking would Rampage ever fight a technical fight, and answer no. The assumption being that he's not that type of fighter... you're right, because if he was he would be fighting technically.
Like I said on the thread... I was hoping the guy would get some respect for taking the fight no one wanted but in typical lowkick fashion... nope.
I agree. We are a very negative group. Not everyone and not all the time but generally speaking - a lot of criticism and a lot of weaks:
@Michael
For my part... its never personal its just fun.
People really think Rampage will destroy Glover in the first round? LOL. Good fanboys, though!!! Keep it up.
