UFC on Fox 4 : Medical Suspensions and Fighter Salaries
Posted on August 9, 2012, 12:27 PM by Mike SearsonFighter salaries for UFC on FOX 4 were finally released by the California State Athletic Commission today. As well as a list of medical suspensions including 5 serious ones; three of those went to main card fighters Mike Swick, Jamie Varner, and DaMarques Johnson.
Saturday night's main card aired live on FOX, while FUEL TV aired a six-fight preliminary-card special from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In the main event, Shogun Rua defeated Brandon Vera with a fourth-round TKO. In the co-main event Lyoto Machida earned a title shot for his second-round knockout of Ryan Bader.

Mixed martial arts fighters do not have collective bargaining or a union, but the fighters’ salaries are still public record. wow. i guess they are getting a deal on Lauzon.
Davis got 30 grad for walking around for about a minute and then fouling a guy.... some guys have it so rough
Whats with all the 30 days no contact for a "hard bout"
These guys used to brawl 3 times in 1 night.
Sounds like some commiefornia feel-good thing
vera got [paid more then bader? and is being paid about the same as lauzon? interestinggg
i mean paid more then lauzon
How much money do you reckon the likes of Bader or Lauzon make surplus to they're official purse?
It probably depends on how good their fight was, if they got a finish/won, and if they already recieved other bonuses. Joe got two other official fight night bonuses, but he probably got a little extra on the side.
Bader might have gotten a little bit of cheese, but he got stopped so you never know.
I suppose it means that guys have to get into the sport for the right reasons, i.e. a love of martial arts/combat sports and a will to compete rather than a pay day. Still though, $12,000 seems a little short for what these guys put themselves through. It's a lot to sacrafice, you know? Are the undercard guys part-time?
There are many substantiated rumors about undercard fighters getting backroom bonuses too. Sean McCorkle told the media fighters never get whats reported, and that it's always some type of pay under the table.
Which is cool, but I also think it lets the UFC slide on paying guys what they are actually worth.
