UFC 152 is in the books and Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones has successfully defended his belt once again with an fourth round submission of Vitor Belfort. The champ used a great mix of his wrestling and striking to thoroughly out-class Belfort throughout the entire fight. This comes as no surprise to most, although Belfort appeared to have Jones in some danger of being submitted early on with a tight armbar. Jones said afterward that he was waiting for the arm to break, but that he would not tap out.

In other action, the inaugural Flyweight champion was crowned as Demetrious Johnson defeated Joseph Benavidez in a back-and-forth affair which showcased the excellent takedowns of“Mighty Mouse.” Many had picked Benavidez to win this fight. Michael Bisping outskilled Brian Stann with some improved wrestling and his patented striking accuracy. Stann did stop some takedown attempts and land some good shots but ultimately lost to Bisping via unanimous decision.

Rounding out the main card, Matt Hamill came out of retirement to best Roger Hollett with a decision.Cub Swanson threw a huge looping right hand that absolutely stunned his opponent Charles Oliveira, who fell to the mat, knocked out after a strange delay. An impressive win for the Greg Jackson product, who proves that they do train to finish fights.

Good event. as i said Cub Swanson is amazing, ever since the WEC i been saying but no one cares for these guys until the UFC hypes them, been following him for some time now and finally people will know him. also as i man i admit Bisping is better than i though , congrats on his first Top 10 win . Mighty Mouse Johnson not sure if he has improve that much or Ian McCall is also in such a high level , very impress with him Benavidez is a beast and he defeat him.

and Vitor Belfort what a warrior he has my forever respect.

Michael Bispings work with a sports psychologist clearly paid off. His body language coming into the fight was of a man who was in the mental, emotional and physical zone to win.

I like both Stann and Bisping, but I've got to accept that both Bisping and Sonnen have exposed Stann to be a one dimensional power striker. On this showing I think anyone would find it hard to refute the claim that Bisping is now a well rounded fighter.... and he can take a punch:)

Bisping has been in the upper echolons long enough to warrant serious consideration for a shot at the title. I believe Silva will avoid Weidman and take Bisping first... We'll have to wait and see.

Alot of respect shown by both fighters before, during and after the fight, it was a pleasure to see. Bisping looked good and did well to retain his composure after the power punch of Stann. I would have liked to see a few more body punches and kicks from Bisping but it was a good performance non the less. I'm sure he will give it everything he has against A. Silva (if he gets the chance) ..... but lets face it, Silva is one of the best fighters of all time! War Bisping!!

Also I couldn't beleive how bad that Canadian crowd was. Booing the Benevidez and Johnson fight was plain rediculous. You can tell the difference in fanbase knowledge when there is a fight in Brazil.

Yup I am Canadian and I was at this show - when the crowd was booing I was like - what the hell is wrong with you?

I guess some people just want violence - that was a well executed fight and I enjoyed watching it.

My countrymen need to step up their knowledge.

Thank you I have had the good fortune to have had a martial arts instructor as a father. It runs deep in my family - Hapkido,Boxing and wrestling.

I can see the beauty in a fighter who can make the techniques come to life as it was meant to be.

Such intelligence and under so much pressure - amazing. The Toronto area has the passion for fighting but many lack hands on experience - we will get there- the passion and love comes first - it will fuel us to learn more.

No more of this Bisping hasn't beaten any good talk. Great performance against Stann and showed he can take a punch, he got rrocked but who doesn't from Stann.

Bisping for title shot, especially since he beat Sonnen in reality

He didn't beat Sonnen in reality. He beat Sonnen in your opinion, which conflicts with the majority opinion.

I just checked Sherdog, it says that Bisping lost to Sonnen.Let me check again.... yep he lost to Sonnen it says.

Bisping had a good performance. But the title shot needs to belong to Belcher vs Weidman winner.... You are just bias as can be, how can you seriously think the winner of a fight, where both fighters are coming off losses, should get a title shot. Pretty bad overlook.

I agree the winner of Belcher/Weidman deserves the shot, but I actually somewhat agree with Keith. Bisping should have got the W over Sonnen. That was a bad decision from the judges, but when compared to a lot of the decisions over the last few years, that one still doesn't stand out as one of the worst. As much as I dislike Bisping, he is definitely on track to get a title shot soon, just not the next shot. I thought Stann was going to KO him, but he proved me wrong.

Again, it was not a bad decision. In your opinion it was wrong, but your opinion is slightly in the minority.

To be fair I stated that with too much certainty, seeing as it's an opinion but Minority? It was all over the UFC, Twitter and even here on the night of the fight that Bisping should have won. It was and is the majority opinion he won

Yes, minority. It doesn't matter how many places you saw it. The biggest survey on the subject by Sherdog had Sonnen as the winner with 50%, Bisping as the winner with 40% of the vote, and 10% had a draw. This site had a survey on it, and Sonnen was the winner by a slim margin.

It was a close fight, but yes, your opinion is in the minority. Just because a lot of people agree with you doesn't make your opinion a majority. More people disagree.

I never saw those polls but we all know at least 30% of the people who voted in them would pick Chael because they're in love with him and go against Bisping because thats what every used to do

That is a hypocritical statement, as there is a high percentage of European and English users on lowkick. They will defend Bisping even after trying to spit at an entire camp, and fighter, even after cheating to win.

so Keith, once again, your point of view is bias, and invalid. Evan wins.

I'm with you on the minority opinion Keith haha. I thought Bisping beat Sonnen too. And just because Sherdog had a poll, doesn't make it the voice of everyone who saw that fight haha.

How is my opinion bias? If you are going to say because I'm from a bordering country to Bisping's then lol. and what do you mean by bias again, I would like to know when I have been biased?

So you can't be biased, but people who are on Sherdog would only vote for Sonnen at a 30% rate because they love him and hate Bisping?

C'mon kid, you're better than that.

Oh, and just because you didn't see them doesn't mean they haven't existed since the fight happened. Don't claim everybody thought one way when you don't have anything to back it up on.

And Japanegro- Of course it doesn't represent the entire MMA population. However, it's the biggest poll done on the subject. If you thought it was the wrong decision you were not the only one.

Hate monger? You called me illiterate when I didn't have a spelling mistake in my whole post. I am not a hate monger, I simply welcomed you back to reality. Bisping won from being the better technical fighter just like I had predicted. Next time bud point the finger at yourself before you point it at anyone else and name call.

Who ever said Bisping doesn't have a chin? He's only been knocked out once in 20 fights. He took beatings from Wanderlei Silva, Rashad Evans and Matt Hamil and never got knocked out. Do you people even watch the fights?

good card. enjoyable fights. vitor came close just wish he threw caution to the wind and let his hands go more instead of pulling guard. bisping looked impressive but as a brit i know he still has to win 1 or 2 more for a title fight.

not impressed with the canadian crowd they seemed worse and less educated on mma than ours. tbh

unless there were constant trading strikes they seemed to boo! (not mma)

the stann bisping fight was really competitive. i thought stanns tdd improved greatly. bisping really worked for a few takedowns and failed. i really dont know how anyone can say stann is a 1 dimensional power striker, he landed several hard kicks and punches. his tdd defense was good and he was able to reverse bisping or stand back up. both men showed alot of heart and determination. i would of liked to see 2 more rounds. bisping won clearly but it wasnt that lop-sided

An impressive win is a submission or knockout, did I miss something in the fight that was so brilliant on Bispings behalf?
