It was evident that Travis Browne had injured his knee and would be in serious trouble in the middle of his bout with Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva at UFC on FX 5 this past weekend. The injury hampered Browne's mobility and led to his subsequent knockout loss -- the first of his career -- in the first round of the main event. What wasn't know is just how bad Browne had injured his leg.

After having his leg examined by a doctor, Browne took to Twitter to let his fans know just how severe his injury would be.

"They say I tore my hamstring," Browne tweeted. "I'll be out of action for 2-4 months. Luckily no surgery."

Before Friday's knockout loss, Browne was closing in on a title shot. His undefeated record of 13-0-1 and victories over Stefan Struve and Chad Griggs pushed him near the top of the heavyweight division. But now the Hawaiian will have to sit on the shelf for a minimum of sixty days before he can begin training again.

This fellow has championship potential and this loss will only make him hungrier and more well rounded. Perhaps some time with Golden Glory and the development of a A. Hardonk dutch special low kick is in order!
