Ranking The Top Five Opponents For Nick Diaz’s Return

carlos condit4. Carlos Condit

While these two top fighters met back at UFC 143 with Diaz ultimately unsuccessful in a five-round war, you can be sure Diaz would love a chance to redeem his loss to Condit if given the opportunity to throw down with him once again.

Condit defeated Diaz via split decision at UFC 143 for the interim welterweight title, where the winner would go on to unify the belts against the then-reigning champion Georges St-Pierre.

Condit is coming off of arguably, one of the greatest 170-pound title fights in UFC history when he threw down with champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 195.

‘The Natural Born Killer’ has since contemplated retirement; however he has claimed he would consider stepping back into the Octagon for a big fight, and named a Diaz rematch as one that definitely intrigues him.

Nick better hope its not a renewed GSP with no title to lose he will crush nick- and before you nut huggers fire off your little Diaz support emails I am a huge Diaz fan it is just that GSP is a bad style match up for the Diaz style, GSP is ultra defensive, explosive wrestler, with ridiculous Sub defense, and very close to equal cardio. Unless Nick has been training low kicks with Melvin Manhoef he loses 10 out of 10 times. I would rather see Nick fight welter fight Mat Brown who is also coming off a loss, now that is a hell of a fight

    • Entity

You say nuthuggers firing off email?
Then say you’re a fan of Nicks?
      You’re a tard

      • buddy

I said ‘Diaz fan’ as in the Diaz brothers I never said Nick specifically and as far as retards go you are the biggest one here provable by your badly worded, wrongly analysed response. Try again troll we all know you will. Alternatively you could get some anger management and stop muttering about ‘merica! and white pride. lol

        .

        • Entity

LoL, you forgot 2nd Amendment supporter and expert marksman.
          You tard.

          • buddy

the sound of nails in your coffin of stupidity increase. Keep up the good work

        • k s

          ‘merica’ ……lol….
Nick wants big fights, Nick vs brown won’t be as big money as Nick wants. Brown is a great fighter but not a crowd puller.

  • Bill Wolf

If Carlos Condit wants a nice money fight to retire on, why not?

    • k s

Carlos condit is in a wrong sport, he should be running tracks.

  • apocalypse123

matt brown, hector lombard, johny hendricks or the loser of lawler vs. woodley

    • k s

      matt brown just lost

      • apocalypse123

so did hector lombard, johny hendricks and the loser of lawler vs. woodley. nick’s coming off a long layoff.

        • k s

You can’t compare Nick Diaz to Lombard, johny even Lawler. He took care of Lawler at the age of 20. He has a massive following. He’s way above these guys.

          • apocalypse123

that ko over lawler was 12 years ago lol and of course i can compare him to lombard, hendricks and matt brown, they’re all great fighters with exciting styles that would match up well with nick i think. it would be a fun rematch between him and lawler too

          • k s

He took care of Lawer once and for all besides they are good friends, if you notice lawler never mentions Nicks name, they asked him to fight Diaz he never gives a clear answer.

    • Ian Gillis

Thank god you don’t make fights for UFC

      • apocalypse123

all those fights would be exciting fan favorites, especially matt brown. that would be one of the most brutal wars in ww history. also this comment was made before lombard lost to hendo.

  • aNYagenda

Well its sure to be entertaining, and probably the last time we’ll ever see him compete before he gets busted for pot again and suspended into really permanent retirement.
So make it a good one.

And its not the laws fault, the dude either cant or wont stop smoking weed for 30 days to pass a drug screen that he knows is coming.

On the contrary his weed addiction makes it look like a more sinister substance then it probably is.

  • k s

Nick diaz, He’s finally back, This guy is a legend he took care of the kinds Robbie Lawler, Paul daly, nothing left to prove. Just wants to see legends fight.

  • k s

I want to see Nick Diaz vs Mcgregor, No matter what the results would be with Nate Diaz, just for fun, just to see the presser. I bet Nick wins the trash talk.

    • SubConscious

Nick is 6’1″ 185 pounds lol.. He would MURK Conor.

      • k s

Nick and Nate both are 6 ft but Nate stands very tall.

        • Truth

How bout Nate and Nick versus Conor, that’ll shut the lil Irishman up. k s, I noticed that too, Nate seems to have better posture than Nick!

          • k s

            Two against one?

          • Lewis Jones

na 2 v 2, conor has artem also.

          • k s

lol..Artem is not popular enough for Nick and Nate, Artem is more like a kick boxer. Joe schilling from Nick Diaz camp vs Artem, I wd like to see.

          • Ian Gillis

Artem is sooo bad. Too much touch butt at the park. How about Nate’s whole crew vs. Mcgregors…google mcgregor sound of silence

          • k s

That would be ultimate at 209, Diaz whole crew against Mcgregors, let’s start writing to the big wigs.

      • k s

I heard Nick is ready for 170 lb or 185lb, that’s why Nate is ready to go down to 155 lb. , Conor has improved his game now, its only Bjj that is his weakness and Nick doesn’t like to roll any more.

  • BoxCon

    ….Vitor Belfort….

    • aNYagenda

      Thats interesting.

      The Diaz Chin is legendary.
He got tuned up by Noons, but he didn’t go out.
      That was TKO from bleeding.

That would be a good watchable fight.

  • Sam

Gunny Nelson, Winner of Story/ Cowboy, Lawler (if he loses this weekend cos i dont believe Diaz should get immediate title shot ) Magny, Gastelum, Belfort.

If Diaz isn’t interested in 170 anymore then obv this is not an appropriate list. I don’t like any matchup at 185 apart from Belfort (and maybe Whittaker)
