Three UFC 176 Bouts Rescheduled For August Cards

Not surprisingly, last night’s postponement of the August 2 UFC 176 pay-per-view (PPV) card has made some waves throughout the MMA world, especially for fighters who were scheduled to fight on the now-delayed Los Angeles card.

Today, news comes that the UFC is already busy at work reshuffling the bouts that supposed to take place at UFC 176. UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta appeared on FOX Sports 1 to state his goal to get the fighters back into action as soon as possible:

“The balance of the fight card will be dispersed amongst the various fights that we have coming up on FOX Sports 1 and/or FOX. We’re going to try to get them fights as quickly as we can because obviously we want to keep them busy and keep them active.”

And it looks like he’s delivering.

An anticipated showdown between talented lightweight prospects Abel Trujillo and Bobby Green will now go down at August 16’s UFC Fight Night 47 from the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine. Also taking place at that event is the pivotal flyweight battle between Top 10-ranked competitors Jussier Formiga and Zach Makovsky.

The trash talk-fueled women’s bantamweight bout between undefeated Brazilian prospect Bethe Correia and longtime veteran Shayna Baszler has been moved up the coast to August 30’s UFC 177 from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.

After drumming up a much-publicized beef with Ronda Rousey’s circle of friends after defeating Jessamyn Duke via decision at April’s UFC 172, Correia will take on the next member of Rousey’s “Four Horsewomen” in an effort to work her way up to a bout against the queen.
