Thiago Silva Looks To Keep His Focus After Big Win Over Rafael Cavalcante

UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago Silva meets up with Karyn Bryant in a Fuel TV interview to discuss his huge first round knockout over Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante last night. Cavalcante appeared to be getting the better of Silva initially, but the tides were turned by a brutal late flurry from Silva.

The fight was a big boost for Silva, who earned both Fight of the Night and Knockout of the Night bonuses for his performance. After having his last two wins turned to no-contests, he was in need of an impressive victory.

He noted that he simply listened to his team of coaches when the going got tough, and used patience to eventually find his opening. Who should be next for Thiago Silva at 205?

he completely gassed and lost his legs

I think he's one of the best and toughest fighters @ 205. Although he's had issues with PEDs in the past and his record is spotty to say the least, I still believe that he has great promise and I hope that this fight and his win, becomes a springboard for further success in the LHW division.

He is one of the most exciting fighters at 205 and one of my favourites but I think prolonged success at 205 is unlikely for him due to his lack of a decent ground game (from the bottom) and cardio, but if joe silva keeps matching him up with strikers then we'll see quite a few exciting bouts from him.

I thought both guys looked bad. Neither had footwork, head movement, and gassed quickly.
