Rory MacDonald Is Looking To Hurt Jake Ellenberger At UFC on Fox 8

23 year old Rory MacDonald is set to face Jake Ellenberger at UFC on Fox 8, the Canadian is currently 14-1 and will look to improve that record against the always dangerous Juggernaut. Ellenberger, who knocked out Nate Marquardt at UFC 158, has had plenty to say about MacDonald in the lead up to their bout. Taking to twitter to voice his opinions, and also predicting an early knockout.1297378619778 ORIGINAL

MacDonald is apparantly un bothered, check out what he had to say to MMAJunkie.com:

“Maybe it is for him, but at the end of the day, this is my job, to fight. I don’t let trash talk or anything get in the way or [have] a difference in my focus or my emotions. He could be the nicest guy, or the rudest guy. He chose that route, and really, it doesn’t make a difference to me. I’m going in there to win a fight, regardless of what attitude he brings in there.”

“My last opponent had some stuff to say, too,” MacDonald said. “At the end of the day, it’s just bickering. The great thing about our job is that we get to solve our problems because we get locked in a cage, and they tell us to fight.”

BJ Penn did a lot of trash talking leading up to his scrap with MacDonald, and ended up paying the price via a nasty three-round beating. The outcome of the match was fair, but a lot of fans and pundits thought that MacDonald was unprofessional in the way he showboated.

“The B.J. fight, I was having fun just beating on him, He was talking a little bit of trash, so I figured I might just hurt him a little bit more.”

“Sometimes it’s just a little more fun. Sometimes, you just want to hurt someone and devastate their lives fast. But I only react to how I’m feeling that night.”

Now here is a guy that enjoys his job. A little too much? Maybe. But he will be put to the test against Ellenberger, who takes no prisoners and will test Rory Mac’s chin.
