CEO of Golden Boy Boxing Richard Schaefer feels that a UFC PPV once a month is too much for consumers in a down economy. Schaefer says he admires and loves the UFC and Dana White as he talks about their FOX deal.

I think they should lower the price to like 29.00 and if its for a belt then ok ..but I dont buy anymore I go to Wild wing or a bar but if it was cheaper would buy it more often

He's got some dumb/promoter speak points. But his opinion of a UFC PPV everymonty being too much is spot on.

yeah i agree , they are making to often this PPV cards

which are slowly making them worse and worse cards

they put 1 or 2 decent fights ( main and co main event )

in the whole card and just fill them with average fights

i would not pay $50dlls to see 1 decent fight and 4 average fights

    just look at UFC 148

obviously a very big main event but the rest was so weak

1 of my friends just stand up and leave when we were watching

Forrest vs Tito , after the first 3 fights and then Forrets vs Tito

he just leave and tell us to call him when Sonnen vs Silva was about to start

and i don't blame him the fights was horrible between 2 wash up fighters

the last good card was UFC 146 but before that i can't even remember one and after this UFC 149 seems even weaker

And then golden glory starts having an event on the months UFC doesn't. That's all he's trying to do

Well.... without watching the video... I will say a PPV every month is great for my local economy. The sports bars charge $5 for a cover or some places are free to watch the fights. They pay to host the fights... it's not cheap but they make it all back and then some with food and drinks. I spend maybe $10-20 for the night. (I don't drink alcohol at the bars on fight night)

Or, my friends and I will take turns getting the PPV... .we/they bring snacks/food/drinks for the night and we have a blast... for about $10-15 a person. Again... we are helping the local economy... as we are purchasing things we wouldn't normally buy simply because it's fight night.

I would image most fight fans do the same things as mentioned above.

So... I guess what I'm saying is... we are stimulating the economy while enjoying PPV's and parties... for a lot less than $55 a month to buy a PPV.

    Am I wrong?

Here we pay 50BRL (25 usd) fixed per month and have access to all UFC cards.....cheaper but you have to commit to it every month.
