Rampage Jackson injured, out of UFC 153 bout with Glover Texeira
Posted on September 12, 2012, 12:13 AM by Mike DrahotaFormer UFC Light Heavyweight champion and outspoken fan-favorite Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been ruled out of UFC 153, as per an announcement made by Dana White earlier today. The exact specifications of Jackson's injury remain a mystery but he will be unable to face Glover Texeira nonetheless. White took to Twitter to announce the bad news:
Rampage is hurt and out of UFC 153 RIO. SUCKS!!!!!!

The news, coupled with the withdrawal of Jose Aldo from the main event title fight, absolutely kills what was a very promising card for Brazil. Will UFC 153 end up just like UFC 147 due to the injury bug? Hopefully the UFC has a better run of luck towards the end of the year. For Rampage, the future is highly unknown after his much-publicized feud with Dana White over a contrat dispute. While he is one of the most popular fighters ever, his relevancy is growing thin after a UFC 144 loss to Ryan Bader. When we will see Rampage return to the Octagon, if ever? Is there anything the UFC can do to curtail the absolute barrage of injuries hindering card after card?

Silvya vs Arlovsky V... JK...
i wanna see rampage to go to the smaller promotions and fight the likes of arlovski, sylvia, and others where he can definitely put on entertaining fights even at heavyweight. he just seemed to lose the drive and started to be outclassed in UFC, plus his all around behavior has wilted. we all know he has five times the chin as arlovski and 1 1\4 times the cardio as tim. maybe it will remotivate him. hope he comes back strong or it could be a closing to his career for all we know. hes only in it for the money
its his last fight with the ufc on his contract any way. he is going bk to movies.
I don't agree.
Even though Rampage has become a baby and a bit of a douche, he is oneoof the best LHWs ever - Unified the pride and ufc belts, beat Hendo, almost killed Arona, took Wand's chin, win over Machida and IMO the only guy to beat prime Chuck... twice via stoppage.
I don't like seeing guys ruin their legacy in the lower leagues, that's no insult to small promotions just feel all time greats deserve more.
I feel he should have one last fight with Shogun and call it a day
rampage has done alot for the sport in pride and the ufc but the machida fight was controversial he could of lost the decision easily, wanderleis chin was already on its way out epecially in LHW division when page won for the1st outta 3 matches. chucks chin was completely gone in the rematch. then he gets ran over by ryan bader REALLY PAGE? BADER? tito finished him for gods sake.
i guess ur right tho there shouldnt be any talk of him going to other organizations becaus he supposedly wants to retire. he can put on great fights when hes conditioned and motivated. shogun would give him one hell of a fight guaranteed. it only would tarnish his career if hes given up then goes to other organizations. look at hendo it worked for him
I wouldnt put the Mashida fight as a big win...
Rampage himself thought he lost that one and I think the most people who saw the fight had Machida as a winner...
Chuck's chin wasn't gone in the second fight, it was Page who took it from him... after that fight he got KO'd from most clean shots
Agree with the rest of wht you said though
Don't be scared homie ..good call rampage !
Glover Texeira would have ****ing man handeld you !
Handled dude handled
Hurt my A$$, he's not training and he's AFRAID.
Well Edgars aready made Shogun and Machida look bad by accepting a crazy hard fight with Aldo on short notice a week after they refused to do the same agaist Jones... Why not offer him a VIP card to subway and let him pile on 60lbs to step in against Texeira (the first guy Shogun ducked this year)...
We know he likes being the smallest guy in the cage! haha
god dammit this was a sick match up
Who care about Rampage anymore? He is hardly even a worthy gatekeeper.
