Quote: Nick Diaz In Contract Negotiations For New Year Return To UFC

Former Strikeforce welterweight champion and UFC/Pride FC veteran Nick Diaz is often in the headlines more for his antics than his fighting. At least, that has been the case for the last 14 months. Having been inactive due to contract disputes since his UFC 158 loss to Georges St-Pierre, it appears the Stockton bad boy is settled with retirement.

That may not be the case though, as reporter Loretta Hunt posted to her Twitter account yesterday:

This comes as great news for the fans of Diaz, and will also likely provide a great boost for the UFC. The promotion has been short on active stars for a while now, and a fight involving Nick Diaz could well revive the UFC’s dwindling PPV cards.
