Press Release: The Utimate Fighter 16 cast unveiled by FX
Posted on August 30, 2012, 01:27 PM by Mike Drahota
Today the full list of all fighter participants for The Ultimate Fighter: Season 16 were announced by FX, courtesy of UFC.com. Featuring an initial cast of 32 fighters who will fight their way into the house of 16 spots, all will be competing at Welterweight this season. As has been hyped in recent months, the two teams will be coached by massive Heavyweights Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin, who will face off at season's end. Roy Nelson has started up some intial controversy with some Zuffa-banned participants on his coaching staff. Dana White has made public his issues with the behavior of “Big Country” Nelson, and expects the latest season of TUF to be an entertaining one:
“Carwin and Nelson are two guys who just can’t stand each other and Roy and I haven’t exactly seen eye to eye either – he’s been a nightmare for me to work with on this show with all his stupid BS.”
The season will begin airing on FX on Friday, September 14th, at 10 PM EST. Here is a complete rundown of the fighters who made the cut for the premiere and a chance to make their way into the house:

I guess the UFC couldn't find better fighters to coach the upcoming TUF season, good job.
very weak
Your stupidity astounds me....
Ugh... Carwin is far from being a scrub. So he lost to Brock.... but look at his previous fights... dude is an animal.
Roy is tough as nails and has brought it in his fights.... even if he takes a beating... the dude keeps moving forward.
Roy is also a jackass and I see the ratings going way up for this TUF season.....
Just my $.02
Looking forward to the show.

And as far as losing to Brock, he basically beat himself in that match. Had he not blown his wad he could have finished him as easily as Cain did.
Fully agree... but how people can think fighters are only as good as their last fight blows my mind.
Me too! Should be entertaining. Now if I can remember to record it instead of cursing at the commercials.
An Egg
roy nelson good 4 non mma fans cause they prob think its funny he fat...and carwin a beast comin off surgery this will b a test if he can still ko guys starting with big country
sweetness :>
If Dos Santos couldn't knock Roy nelson out and he hit nelson with clean wide open shots. I do not believe that Carwin is going to be able to. I see Roy winning a decision due to the fact that carwin won't have any gas in the tank by the middle of the second round.
Carwin hits harder
Arlovski TKOd Roy Nelson... Carwin could do it, he has knock out power in his jab for god sakes... Chins get weaker after beatings like he receives.
I'll admit, it's been a while since Arlovski got any credit.
he fight recently at ONEFC (sept 1) Copy Pasted from the site: Fight Result: "Andrei Arlovski vs Tim Sylvia ruled No Contest due to illegal kick by Andrei Arlovski"
@mortaki12 carwin has the heaviest hands in the heavyweight division and the heaviest hands in mma i say this because of the way he knocked out gonzaga with like a six inch punch i've never seen anyone get knockout with such a short punch like that before and it didn't even look like carwin put much of his body weight into it plus carwin hits a lot harder than dos santos
yes but this is roy nelson!
doubt carwin will land clean which is what matters.look at the jds/carwin fight. jds destroyed the guy cos power means shit if you can not land!
You're really comparing JDS's movement to Roy Nelson's???? Nelson walks straight forward, JDS moves like a middleweight. I was going to crack a joke at your comment, but your statement is already a big enough joke as it is.
Roy has to come straight forward, if he moves side to side, they have to stop between rounds and repair the cage.
I really hope Carwin stays healthy so he can make a run for the title. Hes to old to be going through any more long lay offs. A match against Dos Santos would be awesome if they both stood up till someone dropped.
Hope he drops Nelson like a bad hair cut in their match.
None of us can say carwin has got the heavyest hands in the ufc. We dont know that and neither does anyone else. He wasn't able to knock brocks weak chin out and cains tiny ass was able to do so. He wasn't able to knock dos santos out either. Any top level competion he was not able to knock out. I'm sure dos santos has got heavier hands considering he never was hurt by carwin and santos damn near knocked carwin out. I go by knockout history length. not just a couple of knockout wins over chumps.
Nobody has been able to knock Brock out. Cain and Overeem have been able to make his ass quit. Carwin was on his way to doing the same thing before he gassed. Carwin didn't touch JDS until the second or third round with anything significant, and by that time he was beaten to hell.
yea, but getting KO'd and crying in the fetal position, still have the same end result.
Very true, unless looking at it in the context he was above.
And it wasn't a damn 6 inch punch....watch the fight. It was a straight right to the chin.
It might not have been 6 inches, but it definitely wasn't anymore than a 14 or 15. That punch he KO'd Gonzaga with was the shortest KO shot I've ever seen.
Mortaki12 knows all about 6 inches. you win
Besides Silvas love tap on Forests chin.
That one even traveled a little bit farther. What a perfect shot, though.
Dana has never like Big Country much. But I don't see why. Dood can fight, take a hit and I don't remember Big Country ever being injured for a fight.
he is a jackass is why... he hasn't listened to Dana about anything since he was on TUF, where he was vocally pissed about having to even go through the TUF show, to be in the UFC.
All you have to do is argue with Dana or ignore his recommendation if you want to be on his bad side.
It all started on the TUF show when Roy won, slapped his belly and said hes going for a cheeseburger.
