Nick Diaz Says Anderson Silva Should Hire Boxing Coach To Teach Him To Throw Punches

Nick Diaz and Anderson Silva are somewhat linked in the way of recent appearances, or lack thereof. ‘The Spider’ hasn’t fought since December of 2013, at UFC 168, where the former champion at 185 pounds suffered a catastrophic injury to his leg. New champion Chris Weidman made it two in a row against Silva, and a broken leg for the former boss has seen him estimated to return in early 2015.

For Diaz though, the reasons for inactivity are much more wages centered, as he has been holding out, or perhaps given up on the chance of a big money fight. There was recent talk of a Silva vs. Diaz MMA return bout for both stars, and it seems that the Stockton bad boy has started the war of w. Check out what Diaz said to Fight Hub:

“I’ll tell you what, he should fire his trainer. He should hire a boxing trainer that teaches him how to put punches out. I’m not talking shit, but people are saying shit like ‘He should retire, he won’t be the same.’ I say fire your coach and hire somebody who can train you to throw punches. He had no punches for the guy (Weidman), then he threw a kick out and we know what happened.”

As is the norm with Diaz interviews, he appears to have had a few brews in the lead up to this interview, but you get what he is trying to say. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion is renowned for his sharp boxing skills, and also for trashing his opponents, or just about anybody in between.
