Nick Diaz’s Agent Says Everyone Knows Where He Is

nick diaz fails ufc 183

We are now just three days out from one of the biggest events and biggest fights in UFC history. UFC 183 is set to go down this Saturday (Jan. 31, 2015) live on pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The main event features the highly anticipated return of two legends. Nick Diaz is set to return from a two-year hiatus and take on former long-time middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva who is set to return from a gruesome leg injury.

This event has been heavily promoted, and fans can’t help but be intrigued. Fight week is now upon is, which means the Embedded series has debuted. Featured in the episode were obviously Silva, Tyron Woodley, Kelvin Gastelum, Sara McMann and Miesha Tate. However, there seemed to be one crucial thing missing. None other than Stockton bad boy Diaz was absent, something odd for a headliner but not necessarily all that strange for the polarizing slugger.

Not only was he not in the episode, but the UFC made it seem as if Diaz was missing. At the end of the episode it was implied that Diaz had missed his flight to Las Vegas on Tuesday (January 27, 2015). UFC president Dana White also tweeted a picture Wednesday morning that featured Diaz’s face on a milk carton and asked everyone if they knew where he was:

According to Diaz’s agent Lloyd Pierson, who spoke with MMAFighting.com, this is all a joke and the UFC is just messing around. He said that “everyone knows where he is.”

This could come as quite a scare to many, as the Diaz brothers are notorious for missing media obligations and other important pre-fight events. The Stockton native’s agent confirmed that he did not get on his original flight, but that was the plan. Diaz is scheduled to arrive Wednesday morning, and be at open workouts the same day, but as of 10 a.m. PST, he had not taken off yet:

“This isn’t the old Nick not showing up,” Pierson said. “There were some logistical issues. Everything is on schedule now.

Everyone knew what was going on. The camera made it seem like he missed his flight. He didn’t get on his original flight and everyone knew he wasn’t getting on his original flight.”

It would be quite odd for Diaz to put himself in danger of missing media obligations, which would likely result in him losing money as well. At this point money seems to be the most important thing to Diaz who only came out of his semi-retirement for a huge fight, which he obviously got. It seems as if there really may have just been some slight issues and misunderstanding, and Diaz’s agent confirmed that everything is fine once again:

“Everyone knows where he is,” Pierson said. “He’s fine. Dana knows where Nick is.”

Now that everything is reportedly set for this weekend’s headliner, which returnee will prevail come fight night?
