MMA Fighter shot and killed by FBI during questioning over Boston Marathon bombing

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was the original suspect of the Boston Marathon bombings, after fleeing the scene of the incident, he took shelter in boat in a backyard of a residential home where they were able to find him via the infrared sensors on a helicopter. Once discovered Sarnaev was ultimately shot and killed.

What’s interesting is that he happened to have a fellow Russian friend who has also recently been of interest to state officials who was also an actively training and competing Mixed Martial Artist around the circuit in central Florida.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ibragim Todashev who was considered a friend of the accused bomber, was being questioned by an FBI special agent early Wednesday morning regarding the Boston Marathon bombings that happend on April 15th. The questioning eventually turned violent leaving the agent injured but the suspect dead after being shot and killed in the violent exchange.

Federal law enforcement sources say the man was being questioned by the FBI agent along with two Massachusetts State Police troopers and other law enforcement officials, when a violent confrontation was initiated by the individual.

“During the confrontation, the individual was killed and the agent sustained non-life-threatening injuries.”

There don’t seem to be any clear cut answers as to whether Todashev had any siginificant links to the bombings or the Tsarnaevs, but ironically he also happened to be from Chechnya as the Tsarnaevs were and according to police , he apparently informed acquaintances that he had spoken to Tsarnaev over the phone shortly before the bombing took place.

Todashev also has a recent history of violent activity as he was arrested and charged on May 4th for aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

  • Racist american police, killed this child for no reason. Its not the first, wont be the last…

  • the original suspect behind the Boston bombings are FBI and CIA…

  • why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory with Americans? as if nothing as simple as a terrorist attack is likely to happen. you guys believe every conspiracy theory that you can come up with because you are a materialistic peaceful society with a lot of freedom so you dont really have anything seperating reality from your imagination.

    • @-Outsider-What ignorance. What country do you live in where you are so oppressed compared to if you lived here. America can be great again one day if it can actually be run by the people instead of these morons. Voting these days being all computerized is highly susceptible to being rigged. And I 100% believe it was this past time. I think everyone should read Chael Sonnen's book. One of the best I've ever read. Tired of watching the lazy and irresponsible people get free rides.

I'm an EMT on an ambulance and literally at least 80% of the 911 calls for an ambulance in the US, are total bull hockey. People call an ambulance instead of just driving to the doctor, when there is no emergency whatsoever. They call because they think riding in our truck will make them be treated before everyone else at the emergency room. They call to try and fake symptoms for free drugs. Some people just want attention. Etc… It's absurd. All the fakers and drama queens and selfish botards in this country are responsible for why health care is so expensive. And then they don't pay their bill, so it comes out of our checks. And now an IV bag of saline costs you hundreds of dollars instead of hundreds of pennies. We could actually afford free health care if it wasn't for these parasites. But unfortunately our country rewards irresponsibility with free paychecks and food stamps. As long as that is America, I think "outsider's" country may be more free than ours. Maybe one day it can change.

  • Where is it said he was an MMA fighter? Just because he was at a gym for a bit doesn't mean he was a fighter or even heavily in to it.

I thought out of all places, a MMA website woiuld be the last place to be branding these terrorists as "MMA Fighters".

yes he did have some sort of connection with MMA and was on sherdog but I think it's best if we try to keep as much separation between these terrorists and MMA as possible.

    • I agree… i come here as a release from the stress of the world and everyday life. I want to read this, i'd go to CNN or some other news site.

      • CNN…you crack me up N.C. That was classic. CNN and credible news…lol! Good one.

    • Keith I wouldn't have posted an article stating that he was an MMA fighter if he wasn't.

He's fought Professionally in the regional circuit around Florida for the past few years. I'm not quite sure how many bouts he's had or his record, but he was quite a bit more than some guy who just trained.

There's video footage of his fights on Youtube if you'd like to look it up. He's no major leaguer but he's definitely a fighter.

      • Well then you proved your point, I was asking in curiosity and using it as statement but you served my curiosity.

***** he was an MMA fighter then

  • and the title makes it sound like they were asking some MMA fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov if he knew about the incidents and murdered him.

What actually happened, or is officially reported, is they were questioning the suspect, found out he was part of it and during a conflict he was shot. After that is turns out he was in MMA or something, not surprising seeing where he comes from.
