Michael Bisping: My career will be incomplete without a title shot

UFC Middleweight contender Michael Bisping speaks to Jon Anik via UFC.com and sounds off on a variety of topics, including his view of the whole UFC 151 fiasco. He states that he still wants to seek vengeance against Dan Henderson, even on eight days notice. Bisping focused on the belief that he has only been caught by one punch against Henderson, otherwise holding his own. He reiterates his driven path towards a title shot, and believes that true champions should step up and take the fight that the UFC presents them. A good look at one of the UFC's most hated, yet still accomplished, martial artists.

I still love how guys who have never been champions talk of what "true champions" should do

Bisping was caught by a big punch against Henderson, but he also lost close fights to Wanderlei and Chael. He also very well could have gotten a draw or an L against Hamill.

He might get a title shot if he beats Stann. If he doesn't it's not that big of a deal either. He's not exactly way out in front of the pack.

I actually would love to see him fight Silva, he's exactly the type of fighter Silva would put on a display with. Forrest GirffinEsque

I completely agree. At this point I want to see Anderson fight guys that aren't scared to stand up with him. Bisping might actually try to do that and it would be yet another fantastic display of MMA from the best the ufc has ever seen.

Bisping is one of the most well rounded fighters in mma today, no way is he gonna just stand with silva if he gets a shot!

    Thats true,

He gets a lot of hate but he always puts on a good fight.

He also always fights whoever he is asked to and fought Sonnen on 8 days notice when other high profile fighters (cough cough) wouldn't on the same time scale.

I hope he gets his shot as he is always there or there abouts, and at the very least it will stop him whinging!

You can tell a big difference in Bisping after the Hendo KO. Since then, I can tolerate him. He's one of the few Brits that has stayed in the mix with a good record. He's more well rounded than people give him credit for. Not everyone can stuff most of Chael's take down attempts and Bisping wasn't a pure wrestler. He probably wouldnt have been KO'd by Hendo if he didnt circle INTO Dan's right hand. Since then, he's been more cautious of that.

His only flaw IMO now, is he get flustered when punches come in bunches...ie. Wanderlie, he kinda freaks out when they start flyin.

would of, could of, should of....

Bottom line isnt that Bisping puts on good fights,

He needs to win when he suppose to...

Even if he beat Stan...in my opinion he still doesnt deserve a title shot...

He needs to win 2more fights againt top guys like Munoz, Belcher, Weidman or maybe Vitor. Bisping has not fought any of these guys..

Love or hate him, he does deserve a shot at one point. hasn't Kenny Florian had 4 shots at the belt.

he does deserve a shot by now but anderson isnt fighting until next year. so he should fight again after stann if he wins, unless eveything lines out by the start of the year with anderson

I actually think that there are a few fighters with a very good chance of beating Bisping, Weidman, Belcher.... What goes against these guys is that they haven't been in the top 10 as long as Bisping has....

If and that's if, he beats Stann, then I believe he will have proved that he has learnt how to deal with the KO artists... IMO; A shot for Bisping would be more out of recognition for hanging in there, rather than being the absolute No 1 contender.

All that being said, many people believe he did enough to beat Chael... personally I agree... However that's irrelevant. The criteria used by the UFC to judge a fight, isn't necessarily the personal criteria fans use to judge a fight.

I agree with most of your post but I also think he is #1 contender and will cement his place as such if he beats Stann. I also think he would surprise many fans and do far better against SIlva than many think. His stand up is way underrated because he is a technical fighter rather than a clinical finisher but if he ever does get a shot at Silva expect a great stand up battle.

Well, since Hendo already did, lets see how much he's improved since then with an awesome striker.
