UFC featherweight Conor McGregor did as he promised tonight (July 19, 2014) and stopped Diego Brandao in the first round of their fight by way of TKO.
Coming out fast and strong, the 26-year-old Irish fighter walked his opponent down, finally dispatching him at the 4:05 mark of the first stanza.
Looking as if he was a man possessed, McGregor put on a dominant and impressive performance, and one that immediately began talk of title challenge matches. It was also stirring enough to move the No. 6 ranked Dustin Poirier to immediately call out the No. 12 ranked McGregor.
