Former TUF contestant, Matt Riddle, was tested positive for Marijuana after his victory over Chris Clements at UFC 149. Riddle received 90 days of retroactive suspension, and his victory over Clements was overturned into a No Contest. Speaking exclusively to MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani, Riddle explained the behind the scenes of his positive drug test, also claiming that he's not using Marijuana "to get stoned". Matt Riddle is now 6-3(1) in his MMA career.

Nick Diaz and Matt Riddle should star in a movie title

    Dumb and dumber 2.

Didn't Matt ridiculous see what happened to Diaz with suspension.

Marijuana may be helping with pain, but it sure isn't helping with intelligence.

I think this is going to start becoming a more and more frequent issue, and i think MMA should have this sort of thing so long as a fighter has a license those who need it can do it as they are prescribed.

I'm sorry... but did he just compare a Fighter to a Cancer patient? A cancer patient is suffering from cancer, nice dance around what your ailing from?

There r a million things that marijuana has medicinal value for. U don't have to be a cancer patient for weed to enhance the quality of your life. Im sure he wasn't sayin that the things he goes thru as a fighter r equivalent to what a cancer patient does. He's simply sayin that like a cancer patient there r certain things that a fighter goes thru, like injuries, that marijuana can help with. If u get injured and u r prescribed oxycontin for your pain that's ok but if your doctor says u can smoke a joint to ease the pain that's not? I dont get it.

Does it enhance the fighter?Does it give the fighter an edge? Was the fighter stoned during the fight?NO.It deserves a fine but messing with peoples records these people have no soul a fighter sacraficises everything for there fights just for some scumbag that has never fought to take it away because of Americas prohibition on a herb.Shame on the powers that be.

Either way it's a rule... if you can't follow it, there's consequences? People can chase around the bush all they want about how it doesn't effect a fighter, but it's still against regulations. Till they make it legal, fighters need to be more intelligent about how they use.

Yes it is a rule....but he is licensed to use the herb as medication, so it is a bit ludicrous that he would be fined, let alone have is win overturned. This is analogous to reprimanding someone who uses TRT/hormone replacement therapy in order to elevate their testosterone levels. It is against the rules to do this as well, however those who have a "medical condition" are allowed to do so.

He has a medical license to use this substance and it was transparent from the beginning. The purpose of drug testing is to keep fighters away from illicit substances (or the use of certain substances under illicit circumstances), so if the commission knows that a fighter uses a substance legally, and allows for the fighter to compete, whether or not they text positive for the substance is pretty much erroneous.

Its only a matter of time before weed is legal again. Yes I say again cause its been legal for much much longer than its been illegal. Hemp was the largest cash crop in america a while back and is a way better alternative for so many products than cutting down entire forests
