Fresh off his Submission of the Night victory over Chris Clements, Octagon veteran Matt Riddle called out the former UFC Welterweight title challenger Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy. Riddle motivated his desire to get in the cage with Hardy by sharing some negative experiences from his fight with Nick Osipczak at UFC 105. According to Riddle, fighting in England was a miserable experience:

"I will be completely honest. When I fought in Manchester, England, (for UFC 105), they were very cruel to me. One fan actually spit directly in my face, and he was lucky enough where it hit my mouth. I don't have anything against English people, but ... I'll go over to London, and I'll put 'em down."

Unfortunately for Riddle, Dan Hardy declined his offer. "The Outlaw" tweeted that he feels there's "no value" in fighting the former TUF 7 cast member.

Dan Hardy is currently slated to face another TUF veteran, Amir Sadollah, on the main card of UFC on Fuel TV 5 in Nottingham, England.

Riddle is currently 7-3 in his Mixed Martial Arts career, having all his fights in the UFC. Dan Hardy is 5-4 in the UFC, with a TKO victory over Duane Ludwig in his most recent appearance inside the Octagon.

Hardy is done. He'll never fight for the belt again. Shit his record is almost 50-50. Riddle is moving up and with the comments he made it might have made a very interesting grudge match. Too bad Hardy thinks he's still a title contender. Which we all know he's not anymore.

Hardy is a joke, I could watch Condit knockhing him out for hours on repeat. Riddle Has improved with every fight. Hardy has already peaked as a fighter and is on his decline.

he might not be the best fighter in the world but I've enjoyed watching Riddle improve and happy for the kid.

Dan Hardy is scared to fight one of the lower ranked welterweights, if he has seen anybody go for a takedown in a match then he'll refuse to fight them.

You have to toggle off the dumb-comment-auto-editor switch or use the short cut - cap lock before you type and try it again.

Who is Hardy to turn down fights? If I remember correctly, he was on a four fight losing streak , on the under card and on his way out until he beat Duane, another fighter coming off a loss. To be completely honest, he has a lot more to gain from Riddle right now than Riddle has to gain from him.

Clever call by Riddle - we can see he is using his wrestling to build up leads in the rounds and he is getting better with his striking. Everyone knows that wrestling is Hardy's biggest Achilles' heel so a safe pick and a good way to build up his name. Still, Hardy has good power and is formidable on his feet when he gets his mojo on. Expect Riddle to try and lay on him for 3 rounds and I hope Hardy gets a quality KO.
