On September 22nd, Jon Jones will celebrate his twelvth fight in the UFC, facing Vitor Belfort in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jon Jones is currently 11-1 in the UFC, with sights on solidifying his legacy against one of the best fighters to ever compete in MMA. The following video reminds us about Jon Jones' journey towards making history against Shogun Rua.

Jon Jones was recently interviewed on ESPN's 1stTake, discussing his decision to decline the fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 151. The champ declared he has no regrets over his decision, claiming that there was very little to gain in such situation.

"I don't regret the decision," Jones said Tuesday on "SportsCenter." "I pretty much had everything to lose in that situation. Chael Sonnen is a guy whose record is, I think, 6-5, which isn't a very good record to even fight for a world title.

"I just thought it would be a bad decision to give a guy the opportunity of a lifetime like that."

The first two-thirds of this promo reminded me of why I use to like the guy.

Why does nobody talk about the 'illegal' spinning elbow against Bonnar!!? It clearly hit the back of the head. They add an illegal shot as part of every Bones highlight reel.

When you focus on his latest decisions it's a difficult situation for a fan but when you remember his whole story I find it impossible to not love the character, in and out of the cage, that is already an all time great and legend in the sport.

One of my all time favourite moments in MMA is when Jon got offered the title shot and accepted with "we're going for the title baby, lets do it."

I'll always be a Bones Jones superfan, from his early golden boy days and through the recent tough times.

Bones WILL continue to dominate his division....

No one! who is giving up a 10in reach disadvantage in addition to leg reach advantage with be able to bring a real threat.

All other fighters are not multi dimentional and if they are close, JJ beats them in athleticism.....

Yea but we didn't know that until after so the moment was real for me.

Besides he was told he would probably get won if he put on a good performance, nothing was promised so it was real for him to.

He forgives Dana? Wow, there is no end.

And he doubles down on the 8 day thing? A lower weight, no-camp fighter that he should beat down easily on any given night, even if Sonnen had a camp? No time for a "strategy"? REALLY?

He has officially morphed into a Jackson mini-me.

Soon he'll be mugging the camera with a closed mouth, I'm-smarter-than-you, grin with a slight shake of the head.
