Former UFC Welterweight title challenger, Jon Fitch, will be looking to get back on winning ways, facing the young prospect Erik Silva on the main card of UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Speaking pre-fight, Fitch promised to "shut down" Erik Silva, like he did with nearly every opponent he faced inside the UFC Octagon.

Thats the attitude that gets me from the start he wants to shut him down, I think his goal should be to finish not shut people down for 15 minutes

I like Fitch, I think I just like his attitude and personality. I do sometimes like seeing fighters get absolutely frustrated too. Thing is that in a Fitch fight you are working non-stop against him, you don't have time to throw your hands up in the air at the ref and say he's not doing anything like other grapplers.

I really want to see him win! Maybe a rematch with mister St-Pierre one day would be amazing. (Every uneducated fan will say that it would be a boring fight but I remember their first fight and it was amazing ahah)

    To steal from Dana.'s one-liners

When Ambien needs to sleep... it takes a Jon Fitch.

For a guy to have the win record he has... he's completely forgettable.

    Boring style all around!

Maybe if they'd stop putting him against people unwilling to fight off of their backs. Go and watch is fight with Diego Sanchez. That fight was awesome (and Diego almost took a decision), and it wasn't because Fitch did anything different. It was because Diego refused to be his b*tch for 15 minutes and pressed the action off his back.

Now that Demian Maia has dropped down to welterweight, I'd really love to see him and Fitch throw down. It would be a nonstop war of struggles for control and submission attempts. I'd love to see who came out on top there.

...and they had him on an episode of mythbusters, for force punching power, to see if someone could punch their way out of a coffin....could have chose a striker.

I saw that episode they wanted to test if a average person could punch their way though a barried coughing, I assume Fitch's punch was stronger than the average persons.

No one found out, because they all fell asleep waiting for Fitch to stop humping the coffin and throw the punch

Jon Fitch has landed more strikes in the UFC than anyone not named Georges St. Pierre, with 1973 to GSP's 2016. Just sayin'.

Dana doesnt hold back on the Ultimate Fighter on how boring he finds grapplers, its just to bad he keeps so many on the ufc roster.
