James Toney: No one in the UFC that can go blow-to-blow with me

Latest addition to the UFC, James Toney is confident that he will make a successful transition from Boxing to MMA and is positive that he will be successful in the UFC. Toney feels that he can be take down by a lot of people in the UFC but, he thinks if anyone tries to shoot on him they will get knocked out before they can touch him.

“There are a lot of guys in the UFC who can take me down, but I’m learning how to defend the takedown. I’m not even worried about that. They’ve got to worry about that when they get in with me — how are they going to take me down? They’ve got to take risks when they take me down. They’re taking a risk that they’re going to get knocked out. There ain’t no one in the UFC that can go blow-to-blow with me. You know that.”

Toney feels that MMA is all about hand to hand combat so he’s not really worried about his ground game.

“I’ve tried a little kickboxing and wrestling. It’s all hand-to-hand combat.”

For now their is no official opponent set for Toney’s mma debut, but he feels that if he fight Randy Couture he will be able to pick him apart and it will be a huge win for his mma career.
