Ian McCall Forced Out Of UFC Fight Night 37 Bout With Brad Pickett

Continuing the unfortunate trend of ranked UFC fighters pulling out of bouts, No. 3-ranked flyweight Ian McCall has been forced to withdraw out of his UFC Fight Night 37 bout with Brad “One Punch” Pickett. MMAJunkie.com broke the news today, but the exact nature of McCall’s injury has not been specified.

McCall has seen better days, as he’s now 1-3-1 over his last five bouts, although he has faced top competition in that stretch. McCall was supposed to fight Scott Jorgensen at UFC on FOX 9 before pulling out of that fight, as well.

“Uncle Creepy” was set to welcome “One Punch” to the flyweight arena. Despite still being ranked at No. 5 on the UFC bantamweight Top 15, Pickett decided to make the cut down to 125-pounds after losses to Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland.

Instead, UFC officials are looking for a replacement opponent for hometown favorite Pickett on the March 8 card, which airs live on UFC Fight Pass from London’s O2 Arena.

UFC Fight Night 37 features a tantalizing light heavyweight showdown between talented strikers Alexander Gustafsson and Jimi Manuwa. The always-exciting Pickett would be a solid complement to British fan-favorite Manuwa, so hopefully the UFC can find a suitable competitor to replace McCall.

Keep your eyes peeled to LowKick for more on a potential replacement for Pickett and any developing news on UFC Fight Night 37.
