That's right folks you heard it on this MMA site first!

Reigning UFC Welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre has officially landed his first acting role in a major motion picture.

Latino-Review.com is reporting that St. Pierre has landed the role of villain Batroc The Leaper, a mercenary and a master of the French form of kick boxing known as savate.

Wikipedia list's the fictional marvel character as having the following abilities:

Batroc has no superhuman abilities, but is in peak physical condition in every respect. He is an Olympic-level weightlifter and has extraordinary agility and reflexes. His leg muscles are particularly well developed enabling him to leap great distances equal to an Olympic athlete. He is an expert hand-to-hand combatant and specializes in savate (French-style kickboxing). He is also a skilled military tactician, having formerly been in the French Foreign Legion.

Batroc is also an experienced thief and smuggler, and can speak both French and English. Although, as a mercenary, he does not hesitate to perform any number of criminal acts for his clients, Batroc has, by his own rights, a strong sense of honor, and he will turn against any client whom he feels has unfairly deceived him into committing crimes to which he might not otherwise have agreed.

Batroc also made a few appearances in The Avengers storyline so there's no telling where they could go with this character and potentially what the future could hold for Georges St. Pierre in the world of acting and big budget films.

Luckily I'm also a huge comic book dork and film buff. Hope you guys are as excited as I am. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

To me, this is evidence that GSP will start winding down his career, soon. Honestly, I believe GSP will take the Hendricks fight and perhaps one more after that, but will pack it in @ 170 by or shortly after, the end of this year. Perhaps a super-fight after that, but I believe Rush wants to move on and experience new things. For seriously, if he beats Hendricks and Maia or Ellenberger, what else would The Champ have to accomplish or prove.

On the acting role, I'm happy for him, but I don't see how a fighter can sustain the focus to be both Champion and actor. Congratulations to Rush, but I also see it as foreboding to the end of his career.

There are rumors that before the Diaz fight happened he had a three match plan. Diaz, then Hendricks if he beat Condit, then the Silva superfight (obviously if he still keeps winning).

When GSP was asked about them he gave a generic thought about rumors, but didn't deny them.

If he has any success in this movie then that pattern seems like its on point. He's already cleaned out the division multiple times, and because its 170 challengers will continue to appear.

That is a sharp theory Truth and could be on the money but guys like Machida have taken parts in movies before (albeit, smaller ones) and they don't look like they're moving away yet

    @ Keith

Well, it's only MMA Math, but more than that, there's just a vibe about the whole thing. GSP has..."I'm retiring" swirling around him like Pig-Pen's dirt cloud. For me, he seems tired and bored. The Flu aside and I accept it @ face-value, Rush disappointed.

I don't know if you've ever seen the move called "The Razor's Edge', with Bill Murray (brilliant film, by the way), but his character "Larry Darrell", goes to the top of a mountain in India and gazes out at the peeks, it's truly moving and, without getting into it, realizes that life is more that standing on top of a mountain, using that as a metaphor, I think Rush is close to his "Larry Darrell" moment.

GSP has been on top of the mountain since 2008 and although the view is both beautiful and rewarding, even as such, truly, it must become common-place @ some point. Wow...look, the Himalayas'.

Personally Keith, I want two more fights, with the possible exception of a third. A win over Hendricks and a fight with Maia, resulting in a win. If GSP were to lose to Maia, a re-match, for sure. If a loss to Hendricks, then a re-match and done. Regardless of win or loss.

Beyond that, if a super-fight were to be made between GSP & Silva - great.

Taking it all into consideration, I believe GSP is down to two fights, three if it goes wrong and that's it. Super-fight(s), aside.

Bangers 'n Mash on me, if I'm wrong.

As you state, challengers will continue to appear in the 170. @ some stage of the game, he, any fighter, has to call it a day.

If he beats Hendricks and Maia, should that fight come to pass, he would be silly not to pack it in. Although his legacy is guaranteed, it is also sitting on top of an 11 fight win streak, with 8 title defenses in a row. Where he's prepared to possibly top that off with a loss to Hendricks and of course, a re-match should he lose, under no circumstance, do I believe he'd want to risk adding a possible third or fourth loss. No, this is a two and done, scenario IMO.

Thats cool for him. I do also agree though that this may be his signal to mma that he is soon to move on. This really makes me think there will never be a GSP vs Anderson fight.
