Gruesome! Johny Hendricks Surgically Repaired Biceps Tendon (Warning: Graphic Images)

After tearing his bicep while throwing a hook in the first round of his UFC 171 title clash with Robbie Lawler, newly crowned UFC welterweight titleholder Johny Hendricks joined the long list of Octagon champions currently on the sidelines nursing injures.

“Bigg Rigg” headed home on Monday after a successful surgery to begin his two-month period of recovery and rehabilitation before he can consider training again.

All told, the champ is looking to get back in action sometime around October. While that gives the crowded UFC welterweight division some time to figure out the next rightful title contender, it also keeps yet another weight class on hold during an already very tumultuous 2014.
