Georgi Karakhanyan: I’ll Bitchslap Conor McGregor If I See Him

It looks like Conor McGregor has made himself a few more fans.

You can add WSOF featherweight champion Georgi Karakhanyan to the list of people who have have got beef with Ireland’s hottest fighting prospect. The 29-year old appeared on Sherdog Radio Network’s “Beatdown” show to express his frustration with McGregor:

“As far as that Irish kid, he sucks. He hasn’t fought anybody … and he’s calling out all these guys. I feel like he’s disrespecting a lot of fighters. Honestly, if I see him on the street, I’ll bitchslap him. That’s the reality. Hopefully if I get the opportunity to fight him, I’ll bitchslap him in the fight too.”

The 145 pound champion is unhappy with “Notorious” for calling out his good friend, top UFC featherweight Cub Swanson. Karakhanyan says the UFC newbie doesn’t know who he’s “messing” with and would get beat by any top-ten fighter.

“Calling out my good friend Cub Swanson. What’d he call him, Grandpa? He doesn’t know who he’s messing with. If someone’s a top 10 guy in the UFC, he would just literally run through him. I know he’s trying to promote himself and get his name out there, but when that door locks he’s going to be in big trouble.”

McGregor got some bad news recently when he found out his original opponent for the main event of UFC Fight Night: Dublin, Cole Miller, had dropped out of their planned bout and been replaced by TUF 14 winner Diego Brandao. Karakhanyan has a big fight coming up himself later this month at WSOF 10 when he will attempt to defend his featherweight title for the first time against Rick Glenn.

It’s unlikely we will see the WSOF champ and “Notorious” in the cage anytime soon with them fighting in different promotions, however, if he gets a win over Brandao in July a bout between McGregor and Swanson might not be far in the making.

What do you guys think of Karakhanyan’s comments?
