Georges St-Pierre will return to the Octagon on November 17 in UFC 154, in Quebec, Canada. The WelterWeight champion will face UFC Interim Champion Carlos Condit. The Welterweight Champion has been cleared by doctors to start fighting again.

St-Pierre wrote on his Facebook page today: "Yesterday was the final chapter of my road to recovery, I’m now medically cleared to compete in professional mixed martial arts."

With his ACL surgery behind him and receiving his medical clearance, St-Pierre can return to reinforce his claim to the Welterweight title.

Condit won the interim belt in February after defeating Nick Diaz at UFC 143. Since that time he has been waiting patiently for GSP's recovery rather than taking another fight and risking his opportunity to face St-Pierre.

St-Pierre's most recent victory was over Jake Shields at UFC 129 in April 2011. Prior to that he won nine straight fights including six consecutive title defenses.

I'll take you on it. If anything in life is certain, it's GSP's ability to win a fight in the most boring fashion possible.

You must really want to move. If GSP comes back at 70% of his former self he gets the win.

If he comes back improved.... god damn

Gsp might be boring but his ability to cover distance is boss. I dont think that will be a problem. Lets just hope he will stop teasing us and finish this time.

Welcome back GSP. Can't believe Condit has just held on to that interim belt as if it was worth anything. Won't matter anyway after UFC154...

Finally some news worth reading on this site, enough of chael sonnen already! This fight is going to be amazing, fight of the year for sure. Condit is no joke he always comes to fight a 5 round war. This is a big test for Georges coming off surgery. Condit has been one of my favorite fighters for years and GSP is an icon here in Canada. This fight will be as the kids say... Epic!

100% GSP wins this but not sure how fresh GSP will be. An injury of his kind will mean he has to adjust his training to avoid aggravating it which could impact on his performance. Another thing is how improved and consistent Condit has been. He put on a MMA clinic against Diaz despite some blind numbskulls thinking he did nothing but run. A performance of that level against a less than 100% GSP is tough to call. Have to go with GSP as he is the master of the gameplan but I wouldn't want my house on either under these circumstances. That injury GSP had is a career finisher for most.

    yes!

about time missed watching gsp. hard fight for him with condit who is very skilled plus the ring rust and the fact after an injury it can knock your confidence because you become cautious that you might damage it again!

This fight will remind me of a scene from Monty Python's Life of Brian. Where the gladiator has to chase the peasant around the arena until the gladiator has a heart attack and falls over, peasant continues running waving his arms in victory.

Hey GSP, do your fans a favour and please finish this fight. You have 25 minutes to figure out how, doesn't have to be a highlight reel head kick but get it done any way you can.

Who was the last WW to finish Condit? Yet GSP is expected to do it coming from a long lay off and terrible injury. A dominant decision over Condit is as good as a KO/sub of the night against many other WWs. If he manages just that it will be an accomplishment most others can only dream of doing.

I saw a video where GSP was taking about finishing more opponents and taking chances its seems that his time off and his new crazy gymnastic based training has got him fired up to go back to the old GSP terminator robot, we shall see i hope so. but condit is no joke he is a wild man.

I still think this fight will be like watching a turtle on his back trying to get up. Thats why I wanted to see Diaz, at least he has a sick ground game once it hits the ground, and with GSP, you dont have to try to take him down. It will end up on the ground no matter what you do.

From what I saw Sonnen dominated him again until trying a spinning backfist with as less technique than a ballerina on ketamin.
