Former UFC Lightweight champion, Frankie “The Answer” Edgar, is one of the top Pound-for-Pound fighters on the planet, now looking to make his mark at 145. The match-up with Jose Aldo is a true superfight, with both fighters coming from different backgrounds, and presenting a different skillset of top-tier MMA technique. gsp says frankie edgar is #1 p4p. i believe if jose finishes frankie. he better be #2 or #3 p4p on everyones list.

Oh yeah? what if i dont have him on my list? what's going to happen boss? lol just jk man, but yeah he's pretty good. I would still have Jon, anderson, and gsp up there so not really #3 at all there's too many good guys out there as well.

lol jose hasnt lost since 2005 and defeating edgar via knockout or submission should move him up the ranks in my opinion.

Whoever wins this goes up. It's hard to argue against it. However, p4p is subjective and different people regard different aspects of MMA with varying degrees of worth. Some regard finishers as the best. Some regard those dominating elite world class fighters as better. Some regard all round fighters with few weaknesses as better. Some regard fighters like Edgar competing against bigger, stronger world class fighters with height and reach disadvantages as better.

MMA fans will never truly agree who is p4p #1,2,3,4,5 etc because of the differences but I think it's safe to say that Edgar, Aldo, Jones, GSP, Silva and one or two others, are truly amazing at what they do, all have different styles and all apply their styles brilliantly. For me Edgar is #1 for the simple fact of holding the belt (and should still be wearing it IMO) at 155 being as small as he was.

Ya but if Edgar defeats Aldo, I'm gonna rank him at #3 ahead of Jon Jones.

        Good idea.

I don't care what the stats say, it'll be nice to see Jones drop in the rankings anyway :)

You're number one on just about everyone's "has no clue" list, so that's covered…..

I think we will see fight of the year if not of decades.
