Dana White: Nate Diaz will fight the winner of Benderson vs. Edgar II

Speaking pre-fight on Fuel TV, UFC President Dana White has officially announced that Nate Diaz is the one to face the winner of tonight's UFC 150 main event scrap between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar in Denver, Colorado.
Diaz solidified his place in the mix for a shot at the title with three consecutive victories inside the Octagon. Cesar Gracie product got his hand raised against Takanori Gomi, Donald Cerrone and Jim Miller. Guillotine Choke victory over Jim Miller proved Nate Diaz is currently at the peak of his form as a Mixed Martial Artist.
Diaz moved down to Lightweight from Welterweight, after suffering back-to-back defeats against Rory MacDonald and Dong Hyun-Kim.
Melving Guillard and Donald Cerrone square off in tonight's co-main event, but it seems like the winner will find himself at least one fight away from the title shot.

I would like to see either of them against Nate. I'd be curious though to see how Diaz would handle someone using his speed and volume strategy against him. I think Edgar would be the faster of the two. I'm not sure Edgar is going to win this one tho.

my prediction is that the winner of bendson v edgar will sustain an injury leading to diaz vs pettis for the no 1 contendership XD
I've got to say that this prediction is totally possible and has happend before( Mir v Carwin, Lesner was out), so I don't know why people "weak" this guy. :-)
Yeah Edgar wud be an amazing fight cuz he wud trade with nate which wud be interesting. Bendo wud Be good too, Lets just wait till sunday to discuss this
Diaz deserves the title shot but I was waiting for Pettis vs.Henderson 2.
Of course that could be a possibility if Frankie wins and Henderson losses but I don't really see that happening.
This is what will happen
Frankie vs Bendo will go to a decision with Bendo
winning again a close decision , as good as Frankie is
he just don't have the power to finish Bendo
So Henderson will remain the Champ and will face Diaz
while Frankie will go down to 145 and face Jose Aldo
and then Cerrone will beat Guillard and will face Anthony Pettis
for the next No.1 contender
Ben Henderson will beat Diaz since Diaz won't be able to submit
Bendo because he just can't be summit, Bendo will use his power to
manhandle Diaz while diaz will win on the few moments the fight is standing up.
Frankie will beat Jose Aldo by Decision and become the new Featherweight Champ and Pettis vs Cerrone will be fight of the year
with the winner remaining unknown for now.
Don't forget when Aldo loses to Edger, Aldo will move up and face Bendo. There..we went full circle. :-)
If Frankie wins there will be a rematch. Just sayin.
diaz is always fun to watch!
Like Puke said Diaz fun to watch .But Benson and Edgar is another level of fighter and if ever happen Pettis vs.Henderson 2 , i'll see Henderson redeem from his lost .imo

Diaz deserves his shot for sure, he's put together some fantastic performances lately. I'm not sure if TD will be good enough against Bendo or Edgar but whoever he faces it should be a good fight.

With the new rules I don't think that diaz is going to have that great wrestling defence because diaz is very offensive off his back. Now with that said I read the new rules but i didn't see when they will be taking effect.
I can definitely see diaz beating either of these guys, he can outwork them standing and if/when they decide to shoot on him he has such a dangerous guard that they might not even want to stay down with him. Should be exciting no matter who he ends up fighting though.
i dont really see anyway diaz could lose to anyone right now he can and does out box everyone and nobody lasts very long rolling with him i think he will beat the winner and defend the belt a few times
Bullshit. That fight wasn't close at all. Edgar owned Henderson, Dropped him, controlled him all Hendo landed was a few good leg lkicks and a few jabs. Utter bullshit and I give up on MMA it is just bullshit. dgar is rightly pissed as are many fans as the wrong guy is wearing the silver.
PS: MMA is as much of a joke as boxing is.
