Dana White dispels Tim Sylvia vs. Daniel Cormier rumors

UFC Presidnt Dana White once again crushed Tim Sylvia's hopes of Octagon return, this time writing off the rumored Heavyweight match-up with Daniel Cormier.
Earlier this weekend, MMAjunkie.com suggested that Sylvia signed a four-fight deal with Strikeforce, starting with promotion's Heavyweight Tournament winner Daniel Cormier. The bout was rumored to take place on Showtime, marking DC's last fight with Strikeforce.
Today, White stated via The Underground that Tim Sylvia vs. Daniel Cormier is "a long story", but the Maine-iac is not back with Zuffa.
Sylvia is currently on a three-fight win streak, mostly against lower-tier competition. Sylvia fought 13 times in the UFC, winnng 9 and losing 4 fights. Former champ stated on numerous occasions that he's looking to re-claim his spot as one of the top heavyweights in MMA.

Dana should make him fight Overeem... Cuz I can guarantee he'll never wanna fight again after that.
Make it a New Year's Eve fight. If Overeem get's his license in time we get to see a much needed beating, and if he doesn't, then the match doesn't happen and no one will care really. No loss either way.

Sylvia has been the victim of several embarrassing KOs, so what makes you think another one is going to change his mind?

I remember him saying: If I'm not the main event I feel a injury comin up 5 minutes before the fight and that was in 2005 if I'm not wrong

Tim Sylvia deserves more respect than he has been getting from many of you and especially from Dana White. What sporting organization treats their former champions with such complete disregard? So what if the division was weaker in the past. It was weaker for all the divisions yet look at the respect that Mat Hughes and other earlier era champions where given. To further be fair, Tim Sylvia would beat the lower tier Heavy Weights currently on contract with the UFC.
Bottom Line. Dana White, I'm not a Tim Sylvia fan but I respect him and the effort that he has done and accomplished. Let Tim Sylvia at least fight a HW gate keeper in the UFC to either make it or break it! He deserves at least that amount of respect for his past accomplishments.
Yo dude, he completely shit on go to the UFC before he left. He chose to go to another organization. He has trash talked a ton toward Dana White. Then we he realized how bad he ****ed up he tries to turn things around??? I personally respect his past accomplishments, but for god sakes, he is a COP also part time if that doesnt tell you enough about him personally.

Nogueira choked him out in about a minute or so....
He used roids and was caught... so how many of those wins were with him on the 'juice" ?
No respect here.... he's way past his prime and wouldn't last against even the lower tier HW fighters. As far as being a "gate keeper" not a chance... again... he couldn't hold his own against the newer HW's or even the ones at the end of their careers. He's more suited for the local shows IMO.

Nogueira choked him out after getting beaten fairly comprehensively for 2 rounds, it was once of the most memorable turn-arounds ever. If you're going to diss a former champion at least get your goddamn facts right.

Tim wasn't an amazing HW... and again... how many wins did he have while juiced up?
And the Mercer debacle? Come on! The dude isn't relevant and he isn't going to be in the UFC again... he has been passed up by more talented fights.
Cormier would destroy him.... and that would be as close to another "fact" as one can get.

Tim Sylvia is to fat and out of shape Cormier is a monster he would destroy him. Tim stay clear of him and fight the pit bull again
