Dan Hardy, who was set to face Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 7, has been withdrawn form the card due to an injury sustained in training. The Brit is coming off a two fight win streak, most recently defeating Amir Sadollah in September of 2012.

His replacement will be none other than highly touted knockout artist Jordan Mein. Mein is fresh off his first round destruction of Dan Miller at UFC 158 and will have limited time to train for his next bout against Brown. Mein is only 23 and holds a 27-8 record, so I suspect he has probably had quicker turn-arounds between fights before now.

Matt Brown is also well known for his technical striking and knockout power. We most recently saw 'The Immortal' in action when he knocked Mike Swick out in December of last year.

So with Hardy out and Mein in, who have you got between Mein and Brown? I have a feeling that this fight will end with someone being separated from their consciousness. Brown has more precise, technical striking, while Mein seems to have the more destructive striking skill set.

I personally expected Dan Miller to keep Mein at bay during their recent bout. Do you think Brown will be able to use his range to hold back the young Canadian, or will it be lights out for 'The Immortal'?

I will pick Mein after his display against Miller. Totally unexpected. I thought the UFC was being harsh giving him Miller. Wow was I wrong. Although on the ground he looked a bit unwilling. So maybe it will be a wrestler with Jits that will take him out.

Mein just got a tougher opponent, IMO. Brown is a whole lot more well-rounded and with a terrific ground game, than Hardy. I like Dan a lot, he's really grown on me, but a facts are facts and Matt Brown is a whole lot better and a whole lot tougher, than Hardy.

    War, Matt Brown!

    @ myself

Hardy the scratch, Mein the replacement, Brown the original fight.

    Doh!

Original fight was a fun fight but this may be even better.

I expected Brown to beat Hardy but in my opinion Mein is a better fighter than Hardy, more dangerous at least.

Matt Brown could have a tough deal here but I keep remembering how he managed to get through Wonderboy's striking, so he should be able to do the same here.

    @ Keith

I agree. Mein looked great in beating Miller and is a tough fight for Brown. My only caveat about Mein's victory over Miller and how good he looked, is (just) wondering how gassed Miller was from the weight cut. I don't know that Dan took it all too well and might not have been up to par. That said, Mein still looked awesome and very well may have done the same to Miller, regardless of a good cut.

This should be a really good scrap. Go Brown!
