Dan Henderson: Jon Jones is not the most genuine guy

Speaking to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, legendary multi-class champion Dan Henderson touches on a variety of topics surrounding his blockbuster championship matchup with the dominating Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Henderson is thankful that Jones was not injured in his recent car crash and is healthy enough to face him come September 1st. Feeling he’s far from your average 40-year-old, Henderson looks to shock the world come UFC 151. When asked about Jones’s overall game, Hendo replied:

“There’s a number of things I can exploit. He hasn’t fought anybody like me. I’m looking forward to testing that out. I’m gonna put him on his back. We’ve never seen him there.”

Henderson also described his lengthy layoff, having not fought since his legendary slugfest with Shogun Rua at UFC 139. He stated he had wished to fight sooner but wanted it to be against Jones. Henderson noted that he has not started studying tape of Jones as of yet, but has respect for the lanky champion’s MMA wrestling. Can Henderson dethrone the young, seemingly unstoppable king when September 1st rolls around?
