Henderson says he's happy Jon Jones wants to knock him out

UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones referred to contender Dan Henderson as a one-trick pony and that Jones would be going for a TKO in their upcoming bout at UFC 151. Henderson responded on Tuesday night's UFC Tonight on Fuel TV: “It must be a pretty good trick. It’s kept me in the sport this long and people keep wanting to see it. It’s kept me around for a long time. But it’s more about positioning. TKO me? I’d love for him to try. That means he’s coming after me and I won’t have to chase him.”
Hendo went on to say that he has never seen as much hype around a fighter as he has with Jones: “I don’t know, probably not this much. The sport has progressed so much and there’s so much more media than there used to be, so he’s benefiting from it. When Vitor (Belfort) came on, people hyped him up and said he had no weaknesses. But then Randy (Couture) beat him."
The next subject that came up was the fact that many people are talking about this fight as a formality and that Jones is sure to win. Henderson does not seem to mind being underrated, in fact quite the opposite: “No, I kind of love it. I love being the underdog. I like being a little challenged. I need to step up and prove people wrong. It adds to my fire and motivates me. One of the biggest assets I have is my experience, my timing, my striking, my takedowns and the ability to mix it up.”
Henderson went on to say that he is very confident in his wrestling game against Jones: “I feel right at home when I’m wrestling. He’s taller and longer and gives problems in the clinch. But it’ll give me the opportunity to put him on his back.”
As to whether this might be his last fight in the UFC or the end of his career, Hendo is not saying: “I’m sure I’m not at the beginning of it, being 15 years in. I don’t know how many fights I have left. I’ll take them one-by-one right now. I’d like to go out on top. I should have that opportunity. Maybe I’ll want to test myself and my body a couple more times.”

Hendo's chin is more than legendary put the image of Shogun in mount for a whole round blasting him with gassed punches just makes it seem simple - If Jon was in mount he would need a lot less than a round to stop anybody with his elbones, the champ has one of the best offensive mounts in the game.
What I'm saying is if he does go for the TKO Dan won't need to chase him because if Jon goes for the stoppage he will be right in Hendo's face, on top of him though.
no i think your missing one important issue....Jones has a 84' reach and hendo has about 67' reach....no hes not going to be in has face at all...hes going to be striking from way out of hendo's range!!!
I would love to see jone TKO Dan, to hurt Henderson 's pride .
Dan henderson thinks he is invincible since he got lucky against FEDOR. ..
But he wont get lucky everytime...
If jones doesnt finish him ,, Dragon Machida will do it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ lol lucky against fedor???? how much did m-1 pay you to leave that comment?
Jones Has never KO'd anyone... they were all TKO's
The champ is a fanny
Hendo is OVER!!!!
Jones won't knock him out. He will systematically figure him out, then pick him apart, then either submit or TKO him in embarrassing fashion, just like he did to just about everyone else he's fought so far.
Edit: Jones CAN'T knock him out, but will probably win through sub or TKO.
Seems like a replay of the Rampage fight where Jones did pretty much anything he wanted.
Totality. And Rampage beat Hendo. So what does that say?
can you really compare 2 people who fought the same guy?... i think not 2 totally opposite styles make for 2 totally opposite fights.
Yesterday all i read was how Bones was goin to get K.Oed by that old slow ass H-Dud. Don't forget to dust your knees off while you do all that praying.
Hendo is faster than Jones.
No he's not.
OK, we'll see.
Be careful what you wish for. This will be an interesting fight.
It will be interesting to see how Jones chooses to end it.
I dont get all the Jones hate. He was respectful when talking about Dan and said nothing that hasn't been said before. Hes shown again and again hes an amazing fighter.
When Henderson fans talk about Dan they always mention the "H-bomb" which is just reiterating the fact that hes a BIT of a one trick pony. When Jones says it hes being a super kocky prick for some reason.
Was the nuclear bomb a "one-trick" pony? It is a ridiculous statement coming from someone who doesn't even have that weapon.

deff! hendo is going to be so prepared for this fight and he will show up in shape and ready to go to war for anyone to write him off is just pure ignorance...
Jones deserves every bit of "hype" he's gotten. The guy has only lost one round in all his UFC fights. Hardly anyone has even touched him, and so far he's beat all the top guys in his division. Hendo is next. It won't even be a fight... I say that as a big Hendo fan. I just can't ignore reality.
Like Jon Jones really meant to say, Dan, you, sir, are a one-trick pony. That said, you may be the best one-trick pony out there. I hope you bring your pillows because you're going to need them.
i love hendo he is a warrior and a hof for sure. that being said against the faster taller longer jon jones he has a punchers chance... and a wrestlers chance lol... but im totally pulling for hendo i want to see what jones does against a little adversity i see him getting discouraged easily and getting frustrated at himself and his will will go right out the window... heres to hoping!
At this point how can anyone count hendo out of any fight? Dan's power is legendary but he also has really good accuracy with his punches. Fighting isn't always a chess match of methodical gameplans (despite what Greg jackson thinks), it can get really messy, really quick. And Dan thrives in chaotic exchanges.
