Conor McGregor Says Aldo Is Basic, Poirer Has A Pea Head And Swanson Is A Wrinkly Little Motherf***er

(I’ll give 3-1 odds that Conor McGregor is actually notorious Lowkick troll Entity….)

Conor McGregor has proved to be one of the best trash-talkers in MMA today; his rants about Diego Sanchez, Cole Miller, and just about everybody else have kept the limelight on the Irish phenom during his injury lay-off. ‘The Notorious’ tore his ACL after his second UFC win, a fight night Boston three rounder against Max Holloway.

Now eying a potential return in July with the UFC returning to Dublin, McGregor made an appearance on radio show News Talk, and is once again targeting Diego Sanchez with his jives:

“I would love that [Diego Sanchez] fight, but he’s been getting his ass whooped in the past couple fights. I don’t want to end his career. He’s already slowing. Like he said, he’s been with the promotion for nine years. He’s been there since Ultimate Fighter 1. He’s the original Ultimate Fighter. The guy can barely string a sentence together. It’s time to call it a day.”

“[Poirer] has an unusually small head. These are all facts. He’s got a big frame with a little, small peahead. Cub Swanson is a little wrinkly mother f***er. He looks old and s**t. I’m just stating facts.”

As usual, McGregor is pulling no punches when asked about his fellow fighters, and I can’t help but think that he will talk his way in to a very big fight one day. ‘Notorious’ was then quizzed on his feelings towards featherweight champion Jose Aldo:

“I don’t think so. I think he’s basic. His movements are limited. He doesn’t do any crazy movements. There’s nothing that jumps off the page when I look at him. I thought that straight away. A lot of guys think he’s this and think he’s that. I certainly don’t. That fight will happen and when that fight does happen everyone’s going to see. I’m going to prove what I’m saying.”

McGregor has a long way to go before he can campaign for a title fight with ‘Scarface’, but two more wins could well land him in serious title or contender talks. He blew up on the MMA scene when he steamrolled Marcus Brimage at UFC on Fuel: Mousasi vs. Latifi; the knockout of the night was as slick as it was brutal, and the win over Holloway extended his overall win streak to 10.

I’m intrigued to see what McGregor can achieve when he finally returns from injury, the hype surrounding 25 year old southpaw seems to grow by the day. Check out the highlights of McGregor’s recent radio appearance below, and stay tuned to LowKick!
